“Great way to see the country side”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

From the out set the communication and info we received was very good they replied to emails on the same day. It was very easy getting collected from Cusco and meeting our guide. He spoke great English and was good fun as well as very knowledgable about the area. We did the bikeasalt ride, this was dirt road and single track. We have done a fair bit of mountain biking in the UK before but mainly XC. This trail was manageable but still had challenging sections that you could opt to do but would't be suitable for a beginner but they do have easier trails. We stopped at the Inca site of Moray and visited the salt mines. It was very satisfying to arrive on the bikes as the coach trips from Cusco arrived.
The bikes were full sus and the brakes had been swapped to UK set up. We had full face helmets gloves and Knee/shin pads provided. Lunch was simple but nice. Our kit met us at points along the way so you could leave extra clothes etc in the vehicle for later.

All in all a great day (this was part of our honeymoon!)

“Awesome ride!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013 via mobile

I did the "mega avalanche" with Gravity Peru and it was an awesome ride however definitely not for beginners. It was a offroad downhill starting from 4000+ km altitude. It can be steep and bumpy and requires good bike control since it is a technical ride. But there are also less technical alternatives with Gravity to choose from. My guide was José Manuel who was really a cool guy and of very good service. He was patient with me and knew what he was doing. The equipment used was top notch, a full suspension bike which was very needed for that track. I recommend this tour but choose your ride wisely based on your level of experience!

“What a privilege”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013 via mobile

What a privilege to experience Gravity Peru's Backdoor to Machu Pichu- bike/hike with overnight accommodation at Eco Quechua Lodge . Privileged also to have Salvo as our guide, a proud Quechua man, keen to share his knowledge, culture and friendship. Our group of three enjoyed the gentle downhill bike ride taking in the breathtaking scenery of The Sacred Valley area, the "exciting" drive from Santa Maria to Santa Teresa, overnight at Eco Quechua Lodge - friendly warm hospitality, great food, beautiful tree house accommodation; then the enjoyable walk to Machu Pichu along the railway line with bonus views of the Moon Temple. highly recommended

“Overpriced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013 via mobile

We did the asalt. The trip was really nice but wasn't mentioned as on their site. It took us 6 hours in total, instead of the 9 hours they tell on the site. Total time on the bike about 90 minutes. Paying $95 for 90 minutes biketime is way too much.
Good guide though and good information on the two sites you visit. (Moray and saltmines)
The ride is fantastic with great views.

Gravity Peru doesn't always respond to email. (When asking about paying for something elke than they write on their site)

The site tells you there is an easy and technical option. In my opinion there was only a technical option.

“Awesome trip! (3-Day Backdoor Machu Picchu)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

We had a phenomenal time - everything was smooth from pickup to get our biking gear, to where we started riding. Great ride, and then headed to the most amazing lodge to stay the night. Gorgeous and natural, and we headed to the hot springs before dinner. They were the most amazing hot springs I've ever been to... well worth the short trip! Ziplining was also fantastic, the zipline guides are fun and personable. Hike to Aguas Calientes is easy, along train tracks, with great views of the river and mountains. Not at all strenuous, which is perfect if you're planning to hike Huayna Picchu at the top. It's a really steep hike, which I loved, but be prepared and bring water. We asked to catch an earlier train back, which costs more but definitely worth it. We were able to get back to Cusco that night, though it was late. Overall - we had a phenomenal time and I smiled for pretty much 48 hours straight :)

A note on food - we're vegans, and we had a lot of emails before the trip to make sure we'd be able to have an option at all the meals. I was impressed at the effort the guides went to to make sure we were covered. They picked up some extra fruits and vegetables before we left just to make sure we'd have enough food, but we didn't wind up needing them. The lodge made us a wonderful vegan meal of quinoa and vegetables. And all the other meals were great, too, it worked out really nicely for us. We brought some extra snacks just in case there were any issues, but didn't wind up needing them. We felt very taken care of.
