Our local tour contact suggested this market after we told him that we liked local markets. We were not dispapointed. It was within walking distance from our hotel so we started early to see the surrounding area and then went to this market. Most of people were locals except for us and two other Americans with their guide.
We started in the fresh fruit section where there were, also, fresh fruit juices squeezed right there.
They had a big section of souvenir stores, big loaves of bread, lots of fresh meat ( they had heads of pig and sheep), vegetables and a big section of cafeteria. We did not have time to try their soup but we tried their bread. We had some slices of fresh pineapple that were so sweet. I tried some of the hard boiled quail eggs. The outfit of the local Inca people was very colorful. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit to this market.
