We ate here before going to the cultural dance performance down the street. It was a nice upscale atmosphere with great food and service. We had a most enjoyable dinner. However, when it came to the bill, they assumed we were staying at the hotel, which we were not. They brought over the bill as a room charge and when we told them we weren't staying there, the waiter had to go to the front desk and have them issue a credit card charge. We were in a hurry and I didn't check the details of the bill. When we got home I realized they had charged us an 18% IGV tax which is what they charge for a hotel stay when you don't have your tourist card. It was less than 10 soles, so I'm not going to contest it with my credit card company, but it sours the nice dinner memory and causes me to doubt their honesty. I gave them a rating based on our dining experience and hope the error was just an oversight on their part, but if you eat or even stay there, make sure you check your bill carefully.
