“Cute, clean hotel in the best location and the best service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2011

We (family of 3) stayed at the hotel Oct 22-26. We were greeted at the airport and were taken to our hotel room (405). The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. The room was very clean and spacious. It is only 100 steps from Plaza de Armas and very convinient to restaurants and museums. Breakfast buffet had plenty of options for us (vegetarians). The staff gave some great recommendations for restaurants and we were not disappointed at tall. They have 2 computers with internet connection and is very convinient. They arranged for our taxi to the Puroy station. We left our luggage there for 6 days. I would hightly recoomend this place. Karla arranged our rooms and I could not meet her (she works in Lima) to thank her personally. Many hotels require non-refundable reservations but not Tierra Viva.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room with a king (bigger than King actually) bed and had an upstairs pull away bed. R...

My wife and I spent three nights at the Tierra Viva Cusco Plaza hotel and it was an unforgettable experience. Ask for room 401 if it is available; it has the best view. Best of all, the hotel is just a few yards away from Cusco's main square. The room was very comfortable and clean, the hotel staff very experienced and helpful, and they catered to our every need, from making dinner reservations at Cusco's best restaurants, to arranging for transportation to to providing excellent directions to places to see and shop. In addition, the hotel has free wi-fi throughout the premises, something not always available for free at high-end Peruvian hotels. All-in-all, we had a great time and would highly recommend the hotel.

this is my first time writing a review in tripadvisor and i felt compelled to do so because i was very pleased with my stay here. two weeks ago i went to Cusco with my mother and chose this hotel bc of the great recommendations in Tripadvisor. Not only is Tierra Viva Plaza a quaint little boutique hotel in a very central part of town, but the staff was the friendliest i have ever seen. It happened to be my mother's 66 bday the day after we arrived and I casually mentioned it one of the staff during breakfast, and sure enough they showed up with a birthday cake in our room that day and sang her happy birthday. My mother was in tears and really touched by their warmth and friendliness. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again. Also the coffee shotp/art gallery accross the hotel is excellent!

Room Tip: the room we stayed was clean and overall fine, but the side street was very noisy and we couldn'...

The staff at this hotel are incredible. A group of us stayed here last week, and one of our group is disabled. He can walk very short distances with his canes, but mostly needs a wheelchair. When I sent an email to Tierra viva to ask about the possibility of him being able to stay at their property, they quickly responded with a number of emails describing how they would help to make sure it would be comfortable for him. I won't go into all the details, but let's just say that each time we had to come or go it was an inconvenience for the staff, but they were always all smiles and eager to help.
The breakfast was awesome. Room 104 was amazing. GREAT beds! Okay, so people have complained there's no windows to the outside....well just go sit in the Gorgeous courtyard on the first floor or the wonderful outdoor viewing platform on the 4th!
Thank you so much, TVCP for such a great stay.

My wife, daughter and I stayed at this hotel for two nights prior to Machu Picchu and again for one night on our return. The place is clean, excellent staff who can't do enough for you, early and fairly good breakfast buffet and just one block (downhill) to the Plaza.

I stayed in the suite on the 5th floor too. Beautiful big room with an incredible view. Only downside was a little noise from a disco down the street at night. Service couldn't be better. Free breakfast was good. Free wifi and airport pickup. 3 other friends stayed in other rooms during my stay. They all loved the hotel too.

Room Tip: Move downstairs for a quieter room.

Our first night here we had a spectacular superior room with a comfy king size bed. The staff were extremely helpful in getting us a boxed breakfast to go at 4:30 the next am as we were picked up for our tour. I was 100% confident in leaving our bags with the hotel for 5 days. It is charming and in a great location.

However, when we got back from hiking the INca trail we were booked for an additional two nights. And our superior room this time had a water bed. The hotel was completely full and so we had no other options. Maybe I am picky but our backs do not like water beds and I believe they have no place in a hotel unless advertised that you may get that. So who knows how many of their beds are water beds... be careful of that unless you happen to love water beds.
