The hotel is situated in a quiet street , couple of blocks from the Plaza. At night after all the tourists leave its all about the locals going about their normal life. The way to the plaza itself is a nice trip to take every time. Cobbled streets with high rising stone walls on both side. It is very lively at night and pretty safe. Jacks Cafe is right down the road , at the corner. So if you decide you want some pancakes for a late dinner, its very convienient.
The hotel staff is very very helpful. Katy at the reception desk is very helpful and speaks good english. We were a party of 3- 2 adults and a child. We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms, whihc was beautiful, very spacious with a window looking out into the street. This was fun in the morning. But at night the street outside was very very loud, even with earplugs. We mentioned this and they immediately changed us to a smaller but quieter room on the 3rd floor. Then charged us lower amount for the smaller room for that day.
We also did some laundry with them, which was nice and at a reasonable cost.
We asked Katy to find us a driver to take us around to Pisac and a tour of the Sacred valley. They arranged with a company that does this. I think the price was probably higher than what we would've paid if we booked ourselves. But we did not want to take a chance with a strange outfit. So we decided to pay the extra 20-30 soles for safety, especially witha child with us. The driver was nice and polite and took us to various spots in the Sacred Valley- Pisac ruins, Pisac sunday market, Tambo Machay(beautiful) , Sacsayhuamán, the giant Jesus on the hill and stopped for numerous photo opps. Also made a detour to an Italian rest in Pisac. The driver changed his price once we got back and asked for more. Also quoted us an unbelievable price for our trip to Urubamba the next day. We sent him away and Katy contacted someone else who was more reasonable.
The breakfast was a good spread, with lots of fruits and fruit juices. They also make eggs to order.
Over all it was a very comfortable and safe stay. Def recommend this hotel for you stay in Cuszco. Was def our home away from home for our stay.
