4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2010

We stayed here for about a week. It´s in a quiet and safe part of town (San Blas) within easy walking distance of Plaza del Armas. Some of the rooms are a bit too small but we were lucky enough to get a larger one with a balcony overlooking Cusco. Each of the rooms have wooden floors, wardrobe and heaters. The beds also have duvets so you won´t be cold. There is a safe in the room but it doesn´t work. The staff are all really friendly and helpful, and speak pretty good English. There´s a buffet breakfast which is quite nice, fruit and juice, ham, cheese and eggs. I didn´t try the spa because I thought it was too expensive but also just looked like a room with a couple of beds and an empty jacuzzi. The owners also have a restaurant in town which was ok but nothing special for the price. Try Fallen Angel for a special dinner out.

This hotel was wonderful - very quiet, great views, great staff. The beds are very comfortable with fluffy duvets. There is a space heater in the room for cold nights. Marco, the owner, is also a guide, and he can provide a lot of information on the ruins and museums in the area. Don't miss dinner at Ali Mi Manera, either at the hotel or in town!

Our tour operator booked this hotel for us and we were very happy with it. We stayed here 2 days before and one day after our 4 day inca trail hike to Machu Picchu. The lobby and rooms are tastefully decorated. Our room was small but perfectly nice with a clean modern bathroom. The view from the private balcony was lovely, too. My only complaint with it was a leaky sink faucet. The first night was rather chilly but the other nights were fine.
The service was great. They were always looking out for our comfort and frequently asked if we wanted anything. They offered to print out our boarding passes without prompting. We asked for a lot of services after the hike, like room service, laundry, and other items. They were helpful without attitude and were concerned for our comfort.
We didn't use the spa but did get food from the restaurant and ate it in the room. It was delicious and hit the spot after our tiring hike.
Overall, a nice, clean, modern boutique hotel in a quiet area of Cuzco. I would recommend it to friends and family.

We just stayed at Encantada for 4 nights in November. It is in a great spot in San Blas within walking distance of restaurants and places to shop. This is a nice small hotel with a lovely lobby/atrium area where you eat breakfast in the morning. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated and the beds are comfortable. Since it is on a small street without much traffic it is quiet as well. The staff were always very kind and helpful with all our questions. We loved seeing the family dogs on top of the steps to welcome us when we returned from our adventures in Cuzco.
Don't forget to set up a time to get a massage! It is nice and enjoyable.

We enjoyed our stay at the Encatada for 3 days prior to hiking the Inca trail and 2 days following the hike. They stored our extra luggage for us while we did the hike. We enjoyed a wonderful hot breakfast (eggs cooked to our liking, assorted breads, fresh fruit salad, fresh juices, yogurt and cereals) every morning during our stay. There is always hotwater available in the lobby for a cup of tea or coffee. A lovely fireplace in the lobby is very welcoming and we used the tables in the restaurant area late into the evening for playing cards. They also have beer and wine available at an extra cost. We also noticed that they have a boxed lunch service available if you are planning your day away exploring outlying areas. This is a new hotel, 4 floors. We stayed on the top floor (no elevator) where there was a lovely rooftop balcony overlooking the city of Cusco. The staff here was exceptional, very friendly, housekeeping was very efficient. Our tour guide Vidal, of Adventure Holidays Peru found us this hotel as well he does day tours through the hotel. He is an excellent guide. This hotel also has triple rooms (which wasn't as easy to find) for travellers with families.
The cost was quite reasonable and it was within walking distance of many local shops and the main town square. San Blas is considered the artist district of Cusco, The streets here are cobblestone, very narrow...lots of character...just remember that coming back from town it is all uphill, so this may not be a good choice for anyone facing physical challenges. We would definetely stay here again. It is a gated hotel, very safe.

I stayed 5 days with my mother in this quiet beautiful hotel, located in San Blas, Cusco. It's a new hotel. There is a marvellous view over Cusco from the rooms from the 2-5th floor. There is also a Spa, I had unfortunately no time to try. The staff is excellent, very professional and nice. Angela, Gilmord, Freddy and all the others were always ready to help you with a smile. They organised our trip to the surroundings of Cusco with a driver Fidel, who I also recommend. I would definitely recommend this hotel, a jewel in the artisan quarter of Cusco.
The hotel hasn't got a Restaurant, but the excellent Restaurant A mi Manera delivers in 30 minutes, tasty food. Breakfast is very good and included.
