“Excelente!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014

Small, intimate, interesting, so well appointed. Beautiful setting inside and out, thick walls, comfortable beds, highly attentive staff. Especially lovely grounds at night, private balconies, many gathering areas. Great breakfast! Highly recommend to anyone.

Perfect spot in Cusco. Great staff, loved the welcome tea. Huge room for the 3 of us with enough towels and robes to accommodate. Breakfast was delicious. Service was prompt and always pleasant. Would definitely return.

Room Tip: We had a room with the a loft that my daughters slept in - more than enough room for all of us.

A very nice old house updated with very modern lighting and fixtures. We had a room right off of the central courtyard. Large and comfortable. Good bed, Nice bathroom. Lighting a little strange and not well placed but it really did not matter. Breakfast (included) was excellent but the other meals we had in the restaurant were poor. I definitely would go elsewhere to eat. They sounded great on the menu but were not served as written. Free cocktail at six was a nice touch. The spa looked nice but we had no time to use it. One nice feature was the free 20 minutes of oxygen pumped into your room , made it easier to go to sleep.

There are not enough nice words to describe how amazing Casa Cartagena is. The rooms are very nice and spacious; we were upgraded to a very nice large suite with tub which was perfect for our week long stay, and the staff is beyond absolutely wonderful (again I have not enough good words). We had a huge issue with our bags being lost by the airlines, and the front desk girls did all they could to help us with it. Thanks to them we eventually got our bags released from customs in Lima, forwarded to Cusco and picked up at the airport by the bellboy of the hotel. This happened after dealing with airlines for 5 consecutive days without any result. This level of service is above and beyond anything I have experienced in the past. The hotel location is perfect for what I am looking for not directly in the center of the all the tourist areas but close enough to walk and explore the city on your own.

The breakfast is great, very good selection of food, and the service again is superb. We had also dinner at the restaurant and the food was very well prepared and elegant.

As an overall experience it was absolutely wonderful. I cannot recommend Casa Cartagena enough. If you are in Cusco please don't think twice about staying here.

Very friendly service, very unique boutique hotel, very authentic & can certainly compete with it's Relais Chateau & Orient express neighbours. Great location, amazing courtyard, traditional yet stylish rooms. We only spent one night there & this was NYE, got upgraded to the Master suite which is highly recommended. Extremely spacious room with a very comfortable bed & 2 balconies overlooking the courtyard and the hills.
Both the staff & the manager Juan Carlos do their very best to make everybody feel welcome.

Must try the spa. We had one of the best massages of the entire trip.

Room Tip: Master suite is the way to go.
