“Lovely property, even lovier people!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and couldn't have been more pleased. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and beautiful. The location is perfect (just a block off the main plaza) and the staff was amazing! We felt like we were staying with friends. The breakfast was delicious and we even got a mini-tour of the historical photos lining the walls. We got in late one night, during a rainstorm, so the front desk sent up a pot of tea on the house. We would definitely stay at this property again.

Casa Cartagena offers a mix of old and very modern that is tastefully done. The staff is very competent and warm. The menu offers some local delicacies that are tastefully done. We would definitely go back. We highly recommend the hotel.

Tucked away behind stone walls, this stellar hotel is a one of a kind retreat that will surely impress. Beautiful architecture and grounds, well appointed and spacious rooms...and service that was top notch! It's the perfect place to unwind at the end of a day spent exploring. And the food was exceptional. In all my travels throughout Asia, Europe and the America's, this place ranks right at the top. I can't wait to go back!

I have stayed at this hotel twice, and will do so again.

The Casa Caragena is such a unique experience. Once walking through the doors from the narrow cobblestone street, one is greeted by a warm, inviting, modern atmosphere in a building that oozes history and stories.

The staff are incredible. Inviting, friendly and incredibly focussed on making everyone's experience a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Each room is unique, and tells it's own story. The courtyard and common areas offer countless places to sit, relax and chat with friends or find stillness by yourself.

This is the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed at. You feel as if you are in a picturesque fairytale, with the breathtaking courtyard and historical styled rooms. The cleanliness is immaculate, the service is outstanding and the breakfast is delicious. I would definitely recommend this hotel and if I ever return to Cusco I look forward to staying there again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay at the Casa Cartagena. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Our rooms were beautifully appointed, overlooking the courtyard. Delicious breakfasts with many food choices were available. It was fun to take part in cooking demonstrations in the evening. After a busy day of viewing tourist hot spots, it was so nice to relax in the elegant hot tub. At the spa we had our best massages ever! This boutique hotel is highly recommended.

This hotel is heaven. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and comfortable. You feel safe and well looked-after. Fantastic service, grounds, and food and the spa is just the icing on the cake. You can't go wrong with this choice and it would be amazing for a special occasion like milestone birthday, wedding or anniversary. Or to recover after the Inca Trail! Treat yourself!

Room Tip: I saw a few of the rooms as we were there with friends. The suite is totally amazing but all the reg...
