“Nice and clean hostal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2014

This is a bargain in Cusco: fantastic staff, clean room, nice breakfast! they helped us dealing with every problem we had (translating a sheet from the police, cashing a safe cab,.reserving tickets for macchu picchu)! I would always recommend this hostel!

We stayed one night in Hostal Quipu on arrival in Cusco on April 15th, 2014. We had it pre booked. They arranged a ride from the airport, (for which we paid 20 soles to the driver). The room was clean, bathroom was new construction and tile, staff are friendly but no english. The room was cold, there are no sources of heat in the budget inns in Cusco, and be aware, at this elevation in April evenings are cold, about 11 degrees, and the rooms are only about 15 - so you wear your fleece inside, and getting out the shower and drying off is bit chilly. Hostal Quipu is undergoing a huge makeover, and is mostly a construction site. It is a fair walk from the Plaza de Armas, and is no where near any restaurants or shops. There are very few rooms available, but for the price is a good bargain. We left and found a new place because we felt isolated, being the only guests.

We liked this hostal. The entire staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are situated around a nice court yard. There is some construction work going on but when that is finishes it will even be better. The rooms on the street side are the newest (but also a bit cold). You will get good value for the price.

We were looking for an inexpensive place to stay and found the perfect place! Our stay was very pleasant. The hostel was really clean and close to everything. The service was friendly and very helpful, it was excellent! And breakfast was included! For sure we will stay there again on our next trip to Cuzco.

We really enjoyed our stay at Quipu! It is a quiet hostal, and was perfect after party hostels and 10 bed doorms. Most of the rooms had ensuite bathrooms, and the beds were really comfy especially after doing the inka trek! The staff does not speak much english, and we didnt speak spanish, but still the people running the hostel would come and have chats with you in the morning, and they were interested in what you were doing and that you were having a good time in their hostal. Of a total of 7 weeks traveling in south america this would be my favourite hostal as the staff was so friendly, and value for money was great! Only negative thing was that the hot water in the showers could be a bit unpredictable.

Our 3 night stay in Cusco was spectular and unlike any other vacation we have ever taken due to Lida and Cesar. I have never felt so welcome any where in my life. They were so willing to make our stay in Cusco enjoyable. They went completely out of their way to set up tours of Machu Pichu, meals, and even personal transportation to and from airport. The accomadations were the best you will find in Cusco! This is my first time to Peru and can honestly say I will be back to Cusco because of the hospitality we received.
