We stayed here with 5 couples, one of which brought their son of 8. Everyone absolutely loved it here. The rooms are basic but more than enough for travelers who don't need too much comfort. There were some renovation works going on at the time and there was a bit of trouble with hot water at certain times, but I was always able to take a nice hot shower. You just need to check with the staff.

The staff is really friendly, especially Lida, the woman that runs the place. She is always ready to help, she's amazing! She can also arrange private tours or reliable drivers and guides, both of which we were very happy about!

The breakfast is delicious and it's so nice to have it in the courtyard when the sun is out!

The location is a bit of a walk to the plaza de armas - but not overwhelming. The hostal is pretty, clean, quiet and the beds were okay. The dealbreaker was the shower. It only had hot water for 90 sec. When we brought it to the attention of the staff, we were told to use less water. My husband is not a hot water person (too cold for me) and he eeked out the 90 sec. When we returned later in the week to another room - the hot water only lasted 60 sec! Since it is not warm weather there - it was pretty miserable. We will not be back!

I stayed at Quipu Hostal the week of September 12, 2012. Mrs Lida and staff were so helpful and attentive with my client. I take groups of people to Peru and they had a great stay at Quipu. It takes a good 8 minutes walk to get to Plaza de Armas but we loved that because we got to see locals doing their daily tasks instead of offering or selling us stuff.They had internet. Breakfast was included, it was basic but good. I even got delivered bus tickets to our next city Arequipa and they were kind enough to sign for them! Thank you!!
Nos quedamos en Hostal Quipu con mi cliente y tuvimos una buena estadia. La Sra Lida es muy atenta al igual que el resto de su plantel. La Plaza de Armas queda a unos 8 minutos caminando pero eso nos gusto ya que pudimos observar a los residentes locales haciendo sus quehaceres y eso es justo lo que nos gusta experimentar cuando viajamos a Peru. Hasta les confie la entrega de pasajes a Arequipa y no hubo problema alguna. Muchas gracias!

Lida the owner is very helpfull and gave us all the info we needed to explore the Sacred Valley independently and plan our trip to Machu Picchu. And Paola was a very funny girl.

Also got some great tips about local restaurants and food in Cusco, where we normally wound't have gone.

Room are perfect. Hot showers. Breakfast included. Luggage storage for trip to Machu Picchu.
