Owner description: Enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape of Peru on board of a luxury and magical way to travel between Cusco and the Lake Titicaca. Travelling in the Andean Explorer is a unique experience, a route between mountains, clouds, snow-capped mountains and puna finishing in the majestic Lake Titicaca. Its coaches involve you in an environment extremely decorated with the elegant style of Pullman trains of the decade of 1920. Its tourist shows, the 5-fork lunch, dining cars, observatory-bar car outdoors, among other attractions.

“A wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2014

This was a full day trip from Cusco to Puno and was so much more relaxing and enjoyable than a flight. The ticket price included morning tea, lunch, a drink, afternoon tea and an evening meal all while traveling through the countryside with incredible views.

“Wow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2014

ONE OF THE HIGH LIGHTS OF OUR FIVE WEEK TRIP. The train travelled thought a market. Stall hollers just move everything just enough for the train to pass and you could see the market close back over the line behind us.

A long ride but Interesting , the view is of course spectacular, shows on board, and the service is very good, but food is very "moyen". worth the experience.

“Andean Explorer of PeruRail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2014

I was expecting more of a third world rail experience and was thoroughly surprised at an excellent tourist experience. The scenery was spectacular and justified the length of the journey. The decor of the train was comfortable, not modern but fitting with the original design of the train cars. Wingback chairs were so much more comfortable than standard train seating of the original construction - and much better, sylistically than if they had simply inserted standard "modern" airplane seating. The food was better than one might expect - not gourmet but that was not the point. If you are touring Peru, take this and enjoy it.

“Comfortable and entertaining ride from Puno to Cuzco”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014

The scenery on this trip was spectacular, although the trip would have been more enjoyable had it not taken quite so long. (It took 11 hours to cover the 240 mile route.) The food and drinks were very good, the service was exceptional, and the Andean musicians and dancers who performed for us were very entertaining.
