This restaurant is amazing! We went here for our Thanksgiving dinner and instead of the traditional turkey we were determined to get cuy (guinea pig). Having a pretty bad (microwaved cuy) experience in a different restaurant, I was extremely comprehensive, however after seeing all the reviews and being treated so graciously by our server Erica, I became extremely excited about the meal (The restaurant tells you that you have to wait 1 hour to get the guinea pig, so I knew it was freshly cooked, plus since we set outside we were able to see them cook the cuy in their stone stove).
FOOD: My boyfriend and I had the following: We started out with Pisco Sours (they were strong and delicious), alpaca skewer for appetizer, the lamb leg, and the cuy (yes we like to eat). The food came out amazing. Skewers were prepared just perfectly and I loved the sauce they were marinated in, the lamb meat fell of the bone, the mash potatoes were heavenly, and I couldn’t believe how tasty the guinea pig was.
AMBIANCE: We set outside in one of their wooden tables. It was a chilly night but they quickly turned on the heat lamps and I was nice and cozy. I loved the atmosphere….the wooden tables, the smell of their stone oven, and it is very fun to watch how they prepare all their food in this awesome stove. Side note: My boyfriend was at first concerned that he did not have appropriate clothing to go into the restaurant, however, people were dressed pretty casual while others were a bit more dressed up. So just go and don’t worry about a thing.
SERVICE: LOVED IT! Erica was our server and she was so nice! I felt like I was at her house. She was quick, made really good suggestions and made us feel extremely welcome.
