Casa de Avila - my second home in Peru! i stayed there in February ( see review) and went back in September and I can't wait to go back again. the Spanish school has the best teachers and the best classroom ever! ( the beautiful garden) I spent a month in Peru on this occasion , divided between the rainforest and Arequipa. This time I got to go to Colca Canyon; the roads were flooded in February. (really good two day tour, organised by Casa de Avila; condors obligingly flew overhead. ) but mostly I concentrated on improving my Spanish. I know there is a whole continent of countries and schools and language teachers to choose from, but the more Spanish I understand the more I enjoy travelling in South America and I am convinced I won't find teachers as good anywhere, so Casa de Avila is my first port of call and the time I invest here is really worth it.
I had a cooking lesson in the cooking school this time. A very enjoyable experience!
And even if you don't want Spanish or cooking lessons, and you just need a great place to stay for a day or two, i am sure you'll love it- friendly staff, great atmosphere, pleasant, rooms, gorgeous garden, hot water and a cooked breakfast if you want it. What more could you ask for?
A big thank you to everybody at Casa De Avila - my family in Peru.
