“The best Hotel in Arequipa!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

There are not enough words to describe how good this hotel is. So let's start- the rooms are big, clean and well maintained. The shower is great and the water is always hot. The staff in the lobby know english, which is not something you can take for granted in peru. The breakfast is amazing - with fresh juice, coffee, tea, bread, orange cake and a very good home-made omlet. During my stay my friend got sick and the staff actually ordered us a doctor without charging! Also, location is great at the city center and did I mention LOLO the huge and cute tertle who lives there?!. 5 stars, dont even think twice - book it now. i am a fan!

One of the nicest hotels we stayed at in Peru, with great service, beautiful rooms and wonderful breakfast. Super comfortable beds and the location was perfect right behind the covnent with some great restaurants close by. Incredible value with exceptional customer service. Nothing is too much trouble, the friendly staff even gave us a packed breakfast before an early morning bus. Highly recommended!!

Superb location, right next to the Monastery and close to Plaza de Armas.
Excellent value: rooms are spotless, with extremely comfortable beds.
Internet is free (Wi-Fi and PCs in the hall).
Sr. Manolo's breakfast is by far the best we'd had during our 3-week trip in Peru! (Definitely try the pancakes!) He is uber-friendly and will do everything to prepare the meal just the way you like it.
The backyard garden is quiet and a nice place to relax (you can even use Wi-Fi from there).
The staff are extremely helpful and kind and the hotel provides luggage storage for guests free of charge.
Overall, highly recommended!

Room Tip: Don`t be afraid to choose a street-side room - there is no noise, as the windows have double panes a...

One of the best places we stayed in Peru in our 3 weeks trip. Las Torres de Ugarte is in a very convenient and nice location just behind Santa Catalina Monastery, right in the historic center of Arequipa.
The rooms are very clean and very quiet during the night. Our room had no heating, but it was not uncomfortable - even during winter.
The highlight is the breakfast - thanks one more time, Mr. Manolo for the great pancakes and eggs !

Great location. Right next to the monestary, and only a 2 - 5 minute walk from the main square (Plaza de Armas).

The room was excellent value. Comfortable and clean.

The breakfast was excellent. The chef a great guy, and did not only cook fried or scrambled eggs like most hotels we stayed in for a similar price, but would also cook bacon etc. The buffet table also had a much wider variety of items than other hotel breakfasts.

Very highly recommended for anyone staying in Arequipa!!!!

Friendliest staff we have met in an already friendly country. Clean cherry rooms, excellent wi-fi and free computers, and Jeanie the manager and her staff go to any length to accommodate your request. They even let us leave our car parked securely in their compound while we trekked in Colca Canyon for 3 days. The cook played the part in his white toque, scurrying to prepare breakfast exactly to your specifications, and doting on every detail. Only the resident garden tortoise broke from the uber-friendly motif, following me around the garden incessantly snapping at my shoes. Sandals NOT recommended around this turtle, and check under your car before you drive away!

We stayed at this Hostal in two different rooms with two couples. We were able to park our car inside the courtyard right in front of our rooms! Personnel were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely, all inclusive, eggs, cereals etc, upstairs with a few over the city.
If we ever return to Arequipa, this will be our choice again.
We also loved Lola, the resident giant turtle. She had her own little house and when it started raining she was safely put inside with the door closed for privacy!

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms that have a window looking out on the courtyard outside the main building.
