“Fantastic Sanctuary in Arequipa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2011

We were here only 1 night and really enjoyed our time. Really helpful staff. Great location--a few blocks out of the busy mix of the city center. But safe and walkable to everything. The staff was very helpful, the breakfast was great and plentiful, the grounds were beautiful. A great tranquil setting, which is the perfect way to start and end your day in Arequipa. It was a bit expensive for Peru, but in this instance, it was worth paying a little more for such a great place!

This was our first stop in Peru. It is in a good location. The grounds are very nice with great gardens and lots of birds! The food was good at the restaurant, breakfast was served al fresca and was lovely!

It's a 5 or 10 minute walk to the main plaza. The hotel has lovely gardens & a pool but the upstairs rooms are reached by very steep staircases and the two that we used did not have much of a view. The rooms themselves are clean and cosy. Very good breakfasts which are taken in the garden.

The staff are extremely helpful and the travel agency within the grounds has some good offers on local tours.

This place was quite a surprise, after being ushered in by the guard at the front gate you discover your own secret getaway within Arequipa. The place offeres up a nice pool, plenty of hammocks, large rooms and a great breakfast. If you wanted to rest and relax for a day this is definitely the place to do it. Oh and there is a ping pong table and fooze ball which was always occupied by one guest or another.
The location is great as well, a few blocks up from the Main Square.

Three of us (husband, wife, son (14)) stayed here for 4 nights in July 2010. What an amazing place! Great rooms, friendly, helpful staff, the best breakfast we had anywhere in South America and a restful setting in a garden environment, but still close to the city centre (an easy walk). The internet was a bit pricey but there was a much cheaper place 40 metres up the road that we used. Their luggage room was the most secure I've seen anywhere in the world - no way could your stuff get lost/stolen if you left it there (as we did when we went to Colca canyon).

We'd go back there anytime.

This is a wonderful hotel in Arequipa. The grounds are fabulous - it is a beautiful oasis in the large city. There is a garden pool with beautiful plants and molle trees. The rooms are very comfortable and clean (some with wood floors and nice tile bathrooms). It is safe - the main entrance has a guard. There is also a safety deposit in the main office for small valuables (cameras, computers) and a large luggage storage area - we have left luggage when traveling. The staff are all very helpful and corteous (with service from the airport). And the restaurant has a great daily menu with outdoor dining (also great complimentary full breakfast bar). It is conveniently located within walking distance of most attractions, but far enough from the main plaza to be a bit quieter. We always stay here. I highly recommend it.
