“Very nice place for 40 USD, Beautiful gardens & lovely breakfast!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2009

It is a vast property with beautiful gardens and a charming pool. A very safe and cozy place to stay wisely located minutes of walking from downtown. Make sure you reserve a room in the newer constructions, not the old suites (altough they are like a small 3 1/2 appartment, it is pretty outdated). Breakfast was really excellent, very healthy! Not high luxury but very clean and quiet. They are many fine restaurants nearby. Staff was very cool, smiling and helpful. A travel agency is located within the hotel so you can easily book trip to Colca canyon at the best price - no need to shop at another travel agency - we compared and they offered the best price and quality service. We travelled with a small group in a brand new Mercedes mini-bus. We had a great stay. Highly recommended for the price! Be careful with pickpockets dowtown... Otherwise, Arequipa is a beautiful historical city.

A tranquil get away minutes from Downtown Arequipa.

Beautiful gardens and grounds, clean comfortable rooms, good food, a modest price and wonderful staff. Get a junior suite!

The garden is the best place where to stay. I's close to the center (10 min walk). The room are not very confortable (need to be renew and clean, easy to hear rumors). The structure offer a very nice environment a library, internet pc, restaurant, free drink in the evening.

We loved this little place. There is so much open space and a sunny garden with a pool to relax beside. I think that there are several types of rooms here and some look quite small and perhaps older. Our room was called a junior suite, though it was just a few dollars more and was not a true "suite". We had large corner windows, comfortable beds, modern tile bathroom with some of the best towels we had on our trip, and a large breakfast in the garden.
We relaxed and enjoyed a slower pace leaving time to read by the pool everyday. We especially appreciated the warm sunny weather that Arequipa enjoys after travelling at the higher elevations.

A surprising enclave of small buildings, enclosed in a village-like setting. There is much outdoor space, with tables and chairs always available - and lots of trees and flowers, The staff is everywhere and very responsive. Our room was on the 2nd, top floor of one of the little separate guesthouses; it was spacious, if simple, with big corner windows. I was a bit worrked about the lumpy looking bed, but that was the fluffy quilt (good for the chilly early spring night) on top of the soft mattress on a wood frame. Exceptionally comfortable. Great breakfast.

Nice place near the city centre but very tranquil. 10 mins walk from the main square but some restaurants close by. Gardens to relax in with a pool, hammocks, small restaurant with piano music. Library with book exchange, laundry facilities and recycling. Rooms good size (we had 2 double beds) and reasonable size bathroom with bath. Very clean. Great breakfast, lots of variety. Lots of birds, in cages and wild. Nice relaxing place to chill out but also near to sights and main square if you want to be. Security is good with everything tucked behind high walls and friendly guard on the gate. Tour company on site helpful. Trip we took to Colca Canyon from here was very well run and informative. Friendly guide.

La Casa is a tranquil oasis 10 minutes walk from the centre of Arequipa It is set in lovely gardens with a beautiful garden terrace for an excellent breakfast Security is high with a guard always on the outside door. Most rooms are now new, bright and large --we had 2 double beds, large windows and good bathroom with tub . There is a good and very inexpensive restaurant in the old stone building overlooking the garden , happy hour pisco sour and pianist. The highlight is the garden with hamocks, deck chairs and a pool. This is our third visit and it just gets better and better.

  • Liked — The setting and garden
  • Disliked — rather formal front office staff -efficient enough though
