This is the attractive square in the centre of Arequipa where it all seems to happen. During our 3 day stay, we saw parades, demonstrations, entertainment and at 6:00pm in the evening the ceremony to lower the Peruvian Flag.
With the Cathedral to one side, and shops and colonnial style buildings on the other sides, there is a beauty about the square. You can safely walk here day and night and it is worth spending time watching everybody else from the centre of the Plaza with its fountain and grass areas.
