We stayed here as part of our honeymoon, and aptly booked the "Honeymoon Suite". From the moment we got picked up at the airport until the moment we were dropped off again, after our Chivay/Colca tour (also arranged by the hotel), everything was 5-star. It happened that it was my wife's birthday on the day when we arrived. Not only did they make reservations for us at a great restaurant in Arequipa, but they arranged a special table by the balcony and a "birthday surprise" for her...and when we checked in, as we sat in the lounge sipping our welcome drinks, they brought out a cake and sang to her! It was the best service I have ever experienced from even a luxury hotel, let alone a reasonably priced, "smaller" hotel. I'm Platinum with a few different chains, and they rarely do more than the minimum. This was over the top.
The room was well-appointed and met our expectations. The pictures are on the web site so since each room is individual, I'd say that's the best source for information. The breakfast in the morning was ample and served in a light-filled garden room on the roof, with a friendly smile. The only slight quibble I had was due to my expectations of "worse" service. I went downstairs to settle the bill expecting that my eggs would be delivered while I was gone, since I'd already ordered them. But they waited until I got back before cooking them because they didn't want them to get cold if I was gone longer than expected.
The hotel can arrange private or group tours and we took advantage of this because we had a very tight schedule. While the price was high, the guide was nearly perfect, fluent in English and French, and knowledgeable. She had the ability of any skilled guide to adjust to the desires of her clientele and ensure the experience was exactly what they were looking for. So while it was more than a package tour from the square would have been, it was the perfect complement to the stay in Arequipa which started out so well. We'd go back in a heartbeat.
