“Beautiful hotel with a giant tortoise ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

From the moment we arrived, we were wowed by this hotel, it's really stunning. The reception Yamileth was extremely friendly and helpful. As was the waiter by the pool who works the 2-11pm shift (sorry I didn't get his name). The rooms are stunning and spacious. If you book online you can find better prices then direct with the hotel.

The swimming pool and grounds are all very well maintained, and there is even a giant tortoise roaming around!

My only small complaints would be the lack of staff around the pool, making it hard to order food or to get a towel and the music they play around the pool is a bit strange, not sure anyone is in the mood for techo club hits whilst chilling by the pool!

If your looking for a touch of luxury, I can't imagine anything better. We loved our stay here.

You'll pay through the nose to stay at Arequipa's top hotel, but while you're relaxing by the pool enjoying your complimentary welcome drink you'll be glad that you splashed out.

We stayed here for Christmas and had no complaints whatsoever. The service is what you'd expect from a top class luxurious hotel.

Rooms are beautiful and huge. We asked the receptionist if we could have the best room and she gave us Room 127...it was beautiful.

Stayed here towards the end of my most recent trip to Peru. The hotel is beautiful, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Arequipa. The hotel is massive but they still are able to give personalized service. Rooms are large and beautifully appointed. You won't be disappointed.

The whole experience of the hotel was wonderful - but as a hotel guest I REALLY care about my room and it was superb. Superb linens, mattress and pillows - Great sleep for three nights. Totally clean and every accoutrement.

We stayed there 6 days. Right location...15 minute walk to the square. Safe and clean. Common areas are freshly renovated. Beautiful pool area. Exquisite food. Best buffet breakfast I've ever had (even better than the $50 buffet at the Mauna Kea in Hawaii). I drank about 10 gallons of the coca tea. Staff was always considerate. Would I stay there again; absolutely. Would I recommend it: yes. Because the hotel doesn't have ac so make sure you get a quiet room where you can open the windows without getting the hvac noise from a store our some other facility (avoid room #206 if you can for noise and being dark).

This recently renovated hotel is walking distance from al the point of interest in Arequipa. There is a very nice park in front that keeps the traffic noise away. If you like the Spanish decor that is the place to be. Excellent service and typical cuisine

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here during our recent trip to PERU. When I saw the pictures of this hotel online, I was awe-struck. I never expected the hotel to be painted lavender, and to look like the palace it is portrayed as on the web.

We were pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel looks EXACTLY like its pictures. Elegant, old world charm is evident in every room - from the reading room (where you can drink coca tea) to the outdoor pool area with restaurant, to the indoor elegant restaurant. The best part of this hotel is that it is across the street from a park; what a wonderful view! And since you are not staying in downtown Arequipa, there is plenty of peace and quiet. (Although it is just a 15 minute walk to the Plaza de Armas).

The rooms are clean, new, and certainly up to American standards. Thick towels and bottled water are provided at a moment's notice. We were given a room with a King-sized bed, in a part of the hotel overloooking a central courtyard. Quiet and blissfully dark at night. There is even a turndown service with chocolate on your pillow!

Although there were plenty of channels on the TV, my husband and I instead chose to take a swim in the pool/jaccuzzi (yes it was that hot in October!). and then stroll around the grounds. Behind the hotel, there are some llamas, alpacas, etc. And there is even a playground for kids. We met several families there who were on vacation.

The food in the restaurant was wonderful. The bread fresh, and the chocolate volcano desert was AWESOME! The bar was stocked with just about every liquor you could imagine. So you could get a CAMPARI or something if you weren't in the mood for a Pisco Sour. every course, from soup through desert, was delicious.

There is great attention to detail at this hotel chain. Every worker makes the guest feel welcome. When we complained about how hot our room was (and that there was no A/C as advertised) a large circulating fan "magically" appeared in our room while we were at dinner. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, chock full of a myriad of fresh fruuits, eeggs, fritattas, etc. And the staff constantly brought out fresh, hot towels for all the guests at the pool.

We truly felt like we were on vacation here.
