“In the middle of traffic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2014

I'm sorry to say this, as it was a nice hotel, good value for money, and the staff both friendly and helpful, but traffic woke us up around 5 AM. There's heavy traffic all day and a bus stop just outside, and even though we had a room at the back, the noise was just too much. But if you're a heavy sleeper, by all means - this is a nice hotel. Breakfast was OK but a bit slow, we didn't try the restaurant as we found a very good restaurant just across the corner. Altitude sickness hit us as we arrived in Arequipa, so the uphill walk to the center was relatively breathtaking ... ! The hotel is situated on a main thoroughfare in an otherwise nice residential area.

The hotel was very nice--rooms were large, bathrooms gigantic. The cleaning staff did a decent job, however, forgot to replace toilet paper, clean cups, and towels two out of three nights. The female staff members are much more hospitable and friendly. Our first time to eat in the hotel restaurant the food was great, the drinks were mediocre (but priced accordingly). Our second time in the restaurant was absolutely atrocious; the waitress ate her own dinner (with wine) before preparing our drinks, and after an hour of waiting, all four dishes came out cold, soggy, and undercooked. When we checked out, I had a brief conversation with the desk clerk just to let him know about the undercooked food and he gave absolutely no apology, only saying "one good night, one bad"... Needless to say, I was bummed our last night was a drag, but overall the hotel wasn't horrible. Most likely will not return on my next trip to Arequipa.

Room Tip: Rooms one and two are much quieter than the rooms on the second floor.

I would recommend this hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful and they speak both Spanish and English. Room was a bit dark at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk from the plaza uphill. A taxi will cost 5 soles.

The hotel is immaculately clean and conveniently situated about 10min walking distance from Plaza de Armas. We arranged for a car to pick us up from the airport, which was about 15 min from three hotel. It cost us 30Sol, which seemed reasonable until we realized that regular taxi fares are between 5-10Sol.

A small side room behind the lobby had two computers with internet access, soda, and free tea. We arrived prior to check-in time, and the staff accommodated us by storing our luggage behind the front desk while we went exploring the city. When we left for a tour of the Colca canyons at 3am, they provided us with a small packed lunch since we were going to miss breakfast, which was a nice surprise.

Everyone from the staff was friendly, but some only spoke minimal English. The other negative was that next to our room construction was taking place, which woke us up at 6am.

That aside, this is a well run and clean hotel that caters to everyone's needs.

charming hotel with good location. About 20 min. walk to plaza de armas. rooms are big, comfortable and clean. (Parking no so good - it´s really just at the lawn outside the hotel, by a pretty busy street. But they'll out up a fence, if you insist.) Breakfast is served in the "attached" restaurant and is pretty good. But can´t really recommend the restaurant - they made the worse and smallest pizza´s ever, and getting served took for ever even though there were no guests!

Hotel is good value. (Restaurant not)

Inkanto was a comfortable hotel at a great price. There were good amenities such as Hot water, phone, tv, fridge, and safe for valuables. The room was also nice and big with a comfortable bed and pillows. The hotel restaurant was good and prices were reasonable for a mid to higher end restaurant in Peru. Inkanto was about a 10-12 min walk to the plaza de armas but the neighbour was descent. The road Inkanto was on is fairly busy so suggest requesting a room off the main street. Overall a great stay... One of the best of the 8-10 places we stayed on our trip to Peru.

Room Tip: Request room off main street

Quite a walk from the central plaza, but a pleasant one.
Peaceful and quiet rooms although the other guests could be heard quite well. Restaurant was ok, the risotto was terrific. My pizza was terrible though! Quattro formaggio with only one sort of cheese (about 2kg).
