Description: The Alpandina dishes offered by the Zig Zag Restaurant are the result of a creative culinary fusion deeply rooted in the mountains, where the sun endows foodstuffs with energy and balanced components. The dishes most representative of Alpandino gastronomy arise from a marvellous synthesis of unique time-hallowed ingredients from all over Peru, combined with ancient and modern culinary techniques from the Alps and the Andes. One of the results is our great speciality: Volcanic-Stone-Cooked Meats and Fish.

“Really great fish!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

We all ordered the fresh fish served on a hot volcanic stone and all 7 of us thought our meals were spectacular. Even the side dishes were amazing. I only wish I had been hungrier when we went - we had to eat early that night since we were flying out early the next day.

“Good restaurant in Arequipa, worth a visit.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

We had a group meal here while on a tour of Peru. Good food and service, they specialise in a trilogy of meat or fish served on a hot stone, so you can cook to your liking. Good service and overall a good meal, would go again, perhaps should have given a 5 rating.....just lacked that final special moment to justify it. Clearly geared for tourists and parties, nothing wrong with that I guess. If you are in Arequipa for a few days, definitely worth a visit. Very good value by European standards.

“In the mood for an alpaca hamburger?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

Brought to the table sizzling on a hot stone, this hamburger was an unforgettable experience. The different sauces in side dishes made each bite a new flavor. You can cook the center of the burger to your exact liking by pressing a bit of the meat to the hot stone. Yes, it is a bit expensive in comparison to local prices, but well worth the price. The attention was constant covering every possible detail. My husband had the selection of three kinds of fish ... one Pacific salmon and another paiche from the Peruvian Amazon. Splendid. A bit more light in the restaurant might make it look happier.

“Outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

This was a wonderful meal. We ordered the three meat sampler which was served on a hot stone that kept the meat sizzling well into the meal. Delicious. Service was outstanding including when I had a minor medical issue at the end of the meal which they responded to quickly and professionally. Thanks for the service and assistance.

“What food!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013 via mobile

A great dining experience!! From the service to the food (I had 3 kinds of fish), I was very satisfied with my visit to this restaurant.
My only complaint is there were no locals here, only tourists. Therefore, it was not a typical Peruvian dining spot
