Before my trip to Ecuador a wondered how it is possible that this B&B had only 5 star recommendations.... Well I had to experience it on my own and i didn't get disappointed. It was probably the best B&B I have ever been. Fantastic renovated colonial style house in the centre of Cuenca with authentic rooms and very helpful staff. We really felt like home. Highly recommended to everyone travelling to Cuenca

Casa Ordonez is located in the heart of Colonial Cuenca. The hotel has been in the Ordonez family for over 100 years. Its filled with beautiful antiques and has a very elegant feel. The breakfasts are wonderful, and the service is great! Alberto and Maria treated my wife and I like family. They couldn't do enough for us! They speak excellent English, and helped us in so many ways! They helped us find our way to Cajas National Park, which turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip to Ecuador. Maria took us on a wonderful tour of the Sunday market towns around Cuenca, and Alberto recommended some great restaraunts. We travelled Ecuador for two months, staying in many wonderful hotels. I would have to say that the Casa Ordonez is the best!

I don't know where to begin explaining how wonderful/fabulous/terrific - Casa Ordonez is - - -

When we are on vacation the first thing I notice is how we are greeted - Alberto (the owner) was warm and friendly (handsome too) as was his entire family ! Our room was sparkling clean and lovely. I am somewhat claustrophobic - so my husband called downstairs and Alberto immediately came up with a floor fan. We had only been in the room for about 10 minutes when we received a call from Alberto to see if there was anything else we needed and I told him that we were fine. He suggested that we might want to look at another room he had available --- I went to look at it and after seeing it we were very happy to move to the larger room that also had a small sitting area !

We began each day with a shower that always had plenty of hot water --- then we went downstairs to the dining room and enjoyed a delicious American breakfast. The dining room staff - a woman and a young man were most gracious and helpful. They were so far above and beyond the norm in their helpfulness that we gave each of them a tip on our last day there--- this is something that we have NEVER done in any other country.
Once again, it was because of the warm heart and gentle spirit of Alberto and his family that they sought out servers with the same qualities.

Then we were out for the day --- there were times when we asked for directions from Alberto or another member of his large, friendly family. Everyone was always helpful - in fact on one day we were going to check out the mall and Alberto drove us there in his car --- on other day we asked if we could have some laundry done --- and we had it back in a few hours --- still warm from drying !

When it was time for good byes there was a lot of hugging by all --- in closing I would just like to say that - it does not get any better than -
Casa Ordonez !!

My sister and I stayed here while we were in Cuenca and wished we could stay longer. The Casa was beautiful and the rooms were very comfortable. The family that runs it couldn't be nicer.

We stayed at Casa Ordonez for 4 nights and loved every minute of it. The owners, a family, do their utmost to make your feel at home. They are incredibly friendly. The hotel is small and cosy with lots of atmosphere. It´s very clean and the rooms are spacious. The breakfast is great! Every question or request we had was answered and the staff would even help you to a restaurant by walking you there! We would definately recommend Casa Ordonez to everyone visiting the lovely town of Cuenca.
