“Teleférico is Terrífico”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

A must see for Quito, it takes you to about 13,000 feet, about 4,000 feet above the valley. Very beautiful views with a pleasant ride up and down the mountain.
The facilities at the top are a little shabby (with high prices), but maybe I was just disappointed there was no oxygen bar as I expected.
The photography guy had a creative product and was very reasonably priced at $6.
There is a trail to go even higher and there are horses to rent.
Do it for the view.

“A birds eye view of Quito, little else”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

For$8.50 you can ride a 10-minute, 6-passenger car to the summit of Teleferico and see better and better views of Quito as you ascend. At the base is a small amusement park; at the top are a couple of small restaurants and souvenir shops. You can hike to the summit of a nearby peak (a good 3 hours round trip) or 'ride' (that is 'walk') on a horse on a nearby trail. It can be cold and windy up top so dress for it and bring sunblock. If you are going to scale the summit, bring some food and water with you.

“Worth the Price and Your Time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

I really enjoyed boarding the Teleferico! The journey allows you to see amazing views of Quito . . . you can stay at the top as long as you'd like, hike up the hill a little bit to check out more views, and even grab something to eat or drink. I definitely recommend riding the Teleferico, especially if you want some awesome pictures of a great city in South America.

“Amazing views of Quito”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

The ride up in the gondola cars is spectacular! Then the views of the city are incredible. Pick a clear, sunny day to go up. Walk slowly once you're at the top because you'll definitely feel the altitude and lack of oxygen. This may not be a good attraction for anyone with a fear of heights. Taxis are so affordable in Quito, just take one there and back. Go early in the day to avoid the lines and it's worth paying the little bit extra to get in the faster line.

“Spectacular”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

On a clear day, this is an amazing trip. The views are breathtaking and give you a really good sense of the size of Quito. Also, a good taste of altitude, which you can really put to the test if you take a 4hr walk from the top of the Teleferico. Worth every minute, if you want to get used to high altitudes.
