“With many hotels to choose from in centro historico, this was a very pleasant choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2014

Great location from main square. Good and popular restaurant in the central lobby, a beautiful setting. Not a great place to walk after dark so having the dining option for late evening was a real plus. Very pleasant staff and lots of comfy places to relax. Nice bar and a good option for a more casual meal. My request to change rooms was handled pleasantly and efficiently and came with a note and complimentary snack from the General Manager. I will definitely return when I am in Quito next year.

Room Tip: Was originally booked in 104 but asked to move due to construction noise coming from an adjacent pro...

having missed our connecting flight from toronto due to bad weather, our two night stay shrunk down to 8 hours. people and service were lovely. since we would miss breakfast the next morning they asked if we would like one to go - of course we said yes - we were headed back to the airport to catch our flight to baltra and the galapagos islands. they were setting up the buffet breakfast as we were walking past and it looked amazing. our breakfast was $30 USD but considering the buffet we didn't mind.

DON'T GET THE BREAKFAST TO GO!!! it was terrible!!! a dry apple, a ham&cheese sandwich on white toast bread, crackers and a juicebox - besides a bite or two of the apple and sandwich, we threw it all away! Even that early in the morning, you had more variety and better prices at the airport...even at our gate!

we had emailed the hotel from toronto to see if they could arrange a ride to and from the airport which they did for us - driver was really nice - even if he didn't speak any spanish - they charged us $20 USD each way (we gave him $25) and he was there at 6:30 in the morning to get us (an hour and a half to get to the airport in the morning because of traffic - leave lot's of time for yourself). front desk spoke english.

Room Tip: previous rooms complained of noise....we got there late and left early.....we were probably the ones...

Great central location but advised not to walk out after 9pm. A nice feel to the hotel which had a certain charm. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good but the evening meal was not so. We also did not like the fact that the bedrooms did not have windows so could not get any fresh air.

A beautifully restored colonial building now a boutique hotel. Excellent service, very friendly staff who speak some English, very good food. Perfectly located for visiting the old town. Strongly recommended. Richard & Val Evans. Visiting from UK

The colonial charm was a definite plus, and so was the easy walk from the hotel to the central Plaza de la Independencia. The restaurant in the center courtyard offered good service and tasty food at high prices and in a chilly temperature. All staff members were courteous and friendly.

What somewhat detracted from the overall very good experience was the construction of the room in two levels and the lack of windows towards the exterior. The bathroom was upstairs, and so was a lonely sofa that we never used. Downstairs was the big bed, a desk, and the TV.

The hotel advertises that it is located 8 km from the International airport. Just be aware that it can take you 1-2 hours to cover that distance depending on traffic. We also learned the hard way that cars (including taxis) are prevented from entering the city center certain days and times of the week, depending on the last number on their license plate. Check “today’s number” before you climb into a taxi to avoid delay during peak hours.

Room Tip: If you want to avoid stairs in your room, check for that when you book.

This is an awesome hotel with great service and great food options. Definitley ask for a room with windows if they have it! The staff are so helpful and the hotel is in a great location. I would stay here again, no question. It has charm and style you won't find in a chain hotel. Thanks for the great experience, Hotel Patio Andaluz!!

Room Tip: Ask for one with windows!

This is a fabulous hotel located a couple of blocks from the main square in the historic centre of Quito. It is exquisitely decorated with elegance and flare and has an authentic style about it which makes it stand out from other hotels in the area. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are excellently equipped. There is a front desk where someone is on hand to help with any queries and transfers may be booked from there. There is also a colourful little gift shop with an excellent selection of souvenirs (see photos). Below the restaurant area is a little gem of a bar on a lower level and the entrance to it is exotically decorated with parrots. If you decide to eat in, you will not be disappointed - both the quality of the food and the service is excellent. What makes this hotel so special is not only its historic significance, its charm and elegance but also its very friendly and professional staff who could not do enough for us - from the receptionist to the porters, everyone made us feel truly welcome.
Very highly recommended.

Room Tip: Some rooms have bathrooms on split levels. If you want a bathroom on the same level as the room spef...
