“Nice restaurant view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

Had breakfast there twice in February. Nice view of Quito and the selection of food was excellent! Even Swedish meatballs! You can select a number of items from the buffet: fruit, cereals, eggs, bacon, breads, Ecuadorial specialties. Omelettes are always available. Very clean and modern.

What a quaint little hotel! It's amazing! what up-keeping can do to an old building. Just by the building material and style, you can tell its an old building, but apparently with some creative renovation, it makes a modern (literally I guess) comfortable hotel.

We were at first disappointed that they gave us a room on the first floor, but later were pleasantly surprised that since it was facing the back, it wasn't ground floor but in fact had a pretty nice view of the immaculately manicured garden. Oh yeah, the view of the valley too, the hotel probably has the best view in town.

The doors (all of them) and the toilet fixtures (all of them) were... really old, my guess is 30 or 40 years old, but are kept in just really really great condition. The room was nice and comfortable. My only real complain is that it was a bit dark at night, could have used another lamp somewhere. Lot of tv channels, and if you know Spanish, you can change the menu to English (and if you dont know Spanish, oh well, just keep clicking and try your luck).

There are 3 PCs for hotel guest use, even a working printer (unheard of), after for printer paper from the front desk if they are out, remember to clear your browser cache and password. In room Wifi worked just fine for me, I didn't even have to ask for the password like other hotels, it came with the room key. I found the coffee by the computers are pretty tasty, even though I am not a coffee drinker.

The pool was really nice, but whether Quito has pool adequate weather at all is questionable.

The hotel kind of far from the action, you've to take a taxi if you want to go anywhere. Supermax is 7 blocks southwest, the Amazonas and the trolley lines are a pair of shoes away if you choose to walk. The Subway (sandwich) at the roundabout doesnt open weekends.

I paid $80 a night (which I think is less than average), taxi from the airport was $8, to was $6.

Room Tip: For lower level rooms go for something facing the back, the bigger ones seem to be more nicely decor...

lovely hotel with great views and outdoor pool, staff helpful, 4or5 dollar ride from most places, lovely restaurant with great views, but right in airport flight pattern, averages 3 planes per hour which end by 10pm, understand that the hotel has no heating or air conditioning, we needed heating 2 nights and obtained a supplementary heater only on 1 (it wasn't available the other night)

Nice hotel, with a lovely restaurant on the top floor overlooking the city and surrounding mountains. It appears to be a non-smoking hotel, and has a small business center with computers, plus (somewhat finicky and quite slow) wi-fi. The outdoor pool looks beautiful, and there were occasionally people in it, despite the cool weather. All the rooms have 2 bottles of water.

Staff is reasonably friendly and most speak decent English, except in the restaurant. The buffet breakfast is beautiful and varied, and the dinners are well-prepared and tasty. Be very sure the omelet-maker understands your needs - my "no meat" request didn't get through. The bottles of water are brought to the table already open, which made us a bit nervous.

I was with a group that stayed there 3 times in a 10-day trip. Twice, we had great rooms with nice features, like entrance alcoves for every 2 rooms, with automatic lighting (those rooms were on the 2nd and 3rd floors, although I have no idea whether that's significant). Lots of mirrors, spotlessly clean, bed turn-down with mints.

The first night, several of us had really crummy rooms (they were on the 1st and 6th floors), apparently despite the tour operator's reservations for us. The hallways smelled of disinfectant, my bathroom had peach tiles and was amateurishly patched with pink glop, so the sink looked like someone had spit in it. There are doors to the outside from several places on the first floor that don't look or feel secure.

Room Tip: There are different types of rooms. The difference is very striking, so be sure to ask what you are...

We stayed twice at this hotel for 2 night each. We were in room 359 both times. We were comfortable even though there is no climate control as we kept our door to the balcony open most of the time. The beds were comfortable. Room service was nice to have for one of our meals. Since it is at the top of a hill, we walked many places and took a taxi back. (remember you are almost at 10,000 feet altitude) Staff courtesy was definitely mixed, with waiters, maids and bellmen being very nice and behind the front desk....not so much. I booked through booking.com and got a rate of $80 plus taxes and chgs, still under $100 a night.

The labby is clean and spacious. Restaurant on top floor has excellent view and breakfast is very good. Some in the front desk are very friendly and helpful, some don't. The room facing the street is very noisy and we had uncounted times being waken up. Room is under 3-star standard, bathroom definitely needs to be remodeled.

Nice place with great pool, location in a nice area, rooms are average, but do include pura water.

Weekends are noisy because of the nightclub near by,may want ask for a room away from that, there breakfast is terrific with an unbelieve view.

There is a MINNI mart right a block turn right 100ft,then left, has wine(VINO) box and bottle ,beer as a reasonable cost.

Quito is a neat town with many interesting sites
