We were very tired after a lengthy flight to Quito, so really appreciated the warmth of the welcome and the helpfulness of staff here. The room was big enough to accommodate our luggage and our post-flight disorientation! It was clean and furnished in traditional style, with lighter paintwork and a pretty floral motif to raise any flagging spirits. The bed was very large and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, with wonderful fruit & walnut bread and delicious fresh fruit, amongst other options. We were very impressed by the trouble staff took to prepare an early breakfast for us on our 2nd morning when we had to leave by 06.00 for our next flight. We felt entirely confident to explore the local area on foot and found nothing but helpful, smiling people to make this a pleasure. It was a much more relaxing capital city than others we have visited in South America and the ambience of La Casona de la Ronda reinforced this well.
