“Quiet and Cozy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2010

Located on Calle Galvez, which is actually a narrow concrete staircase with the street name painted clumzily on the building, this was a homey hostal, bright, cheery. You can appreciate this quiet place after two months on the road.

Stayed 3 nights there and really enjoyed the hostel. The location is really excellent, beds are really confortable and the staff really helpful. It's also nice to have breakfast on a big table and share discussions with others travellers.

Staying at Casa Aventura was like staying over night with a relative. Having breakfast and relaxing in the evening around the same table makes it easy to strike up a conversation with other travellers.
The breakfast was great, with fruit salad, and staff and owner were superb. Helped us plan an independent tour of the vineyards in Casablanca valley and gave good recommendations.
Rooms were for the most part very nice. The only two cons were a) the bathrooms are in poor condition, one has black mould b) there is so not much privacy in the downstairs rooms, as the doors are thin and voices carry. But the friendly vibe made up for that by far.

Casa Aventura is located half way up one of the hills in Valparaiso - a nice medium between the busy plan and quiet hills. I stayed in a double room, but all the rooms are huge with high ceilings - its a coverted house of some kind. The common space is small - just a huge table to sit around - but I found that it really led to more socializing. The best part are the owners who went out of their way to be helpful in every way. Some of the rooms face the street which did have some street noice, but not much. Other rooms faced the back with no view, but probably quieter. Bathrooms were quite basic but clean. Kitchen was spotless with everything a selfcaterer would need. All around a great hostel experience with clean room, great kitchen, wonderful location, and fantastic hosts.

  • Liked — Great hosts.
  • Disliked — Bathroom facilities a bit dated and minimal.

We stayed in Casa Adventura for about 10 days and found the staff and owner to be really friendly and helpful. Good breakfast with real coffee, very clean and comfortable beds and pillows and the hostel is always kept clean and very cosy. Rooms come in private double bed, private single/twins or dorms with 3 or 4 beds. However there is no computer or washing machine to use in the hostel but WI-FI access if you have your own laptop. It is located in near the base of Cerro Concepcion and quite safe to walk around at night. Internet cafes and laundry are nearby. Point to note, rooms that are next to the road can be a bit noisy and too bright for sleeping at night. I would higly recommend this hostel for travellers.

A lovely German run hostel. Big airy, clean rooms. The staff are lovely and there´s a great atmosphere around the place.

The free breakfast consists of scrambled egg, fresh bread, fruit, tea, coffee and homemade yummy jam!

Christian, the owner is all too happy to help you with travel tips and his friend, Michael took us on a 3hr city tour which was great fun and only cost 10 pounds for both of us!

Stay here, it´s fun but also laidback and in a lovely safe area of Valpariso.
