“best restaurant in Valparaiso”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

I love to take my wife out for dinner on different new places.
Since we live in Viña del Mar we often visit Cerro Alegre & Cerro Concepcion and we had a wonderful evening @ IL PAPARAZZO.
Beautiful interior, friendly staff, tasty food and a great experience.
I really don't know why people keep complaining about prices, most plates are about $20-25 USD wich I think are absoultely reasonable. What do you expect people, $10 plates, really???
For us was a great discover finding this hidden restaurant, I assure you it should be on the top10 in Valparaiso.
Go there, you won't regret it. Well worth every penny.

“A bit hidden but worth finding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

A very fine restaurant with a wonderful wine collection. We went with 8 people and thus had a wide range of dishes, all were very good. Only complaint, the cheese overpowered the clams one of us ordered. Service was wonderful. Meanus in spanish, french and english. A french influence in the cooking with lots of local influence as well. Made for a very tasty dinner. So it is worth it if you like to eat well. Definately the place to go if you want tuna.

“Not as good as it looks and very expensive”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012 via mobile

We wanted a special night out and a nice meal and so decided to ignore the expensive prices as it was sure to be worth it.it was not. Many different little things annoyed us.
The food wasn't hot.
The roast potatoes were horrible.
They didn't change our cutlery between courses (which you really expect when paying so much).
They forgot to give us plates to share our starter salad.
They didn't give us bread.
They didn't give us sharp knives for our meat.
We ordered a drink, but then they suggested we try something even better instead, which we naively agreed too, not knowing it cost double the original drink we had wanted. 6000 for a small glass of champagne!
The place was cold and there was no atmosphere.
There was no soap in the bathroom.
Etc..

Altogether a disappointing experience and not one I'd recommend. Not good value for money. When paying so much, you expect good service and attention to detail.

“Quaint, expensive, GOOD restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

This one is one of those: I can still picture the interior of the restaurant and the way the food looked on the plate. It was all beautiful. The service was great, the neighborhood charming, and the menu had a good variety of choices, much of which appeared to nod at local sourcing and local favorites. The wine list was great, but we stuck to Il Paparazzo's wondeful Pisco Sours. I had the Seared Tuna (yum) and others had a pizza, a great salad, and a fish ravioli which was great. We went at lunch and the bill was around $100 US, which was expensive to me.

“Expensive but great service, food and wine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012 via mobile

Loved our experience at this restaurant, our waiter was very friendly, the food was very good and the wine selection from smaller boutique wineries was also quite good (as well as the more mainstream options as well).

It is not a cheap night out but it was worth the price, very good all around and would recommend since attention to detail was nice. For example, we mentioned to our waiter that we will be visiting Peru and after our meal another waiter came over and talked to us for a half hour of all the spots we should go to and what we should avoid (since he was Peruvian).
