“worth to change one's plans”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2012

I am not sure what I can add to the reviews, the owners and staff are great, extremely hospitable and kind, the location is fantastic; the views from the third floor incredible.
The rooms are simple and not very large, but more than adequate and relaxing. Bathroom is good. Everything is very clean.
Breakfast is good, altough starts only at 0900, although one can grab a coffee and something small from the buffett before...

We have loved this boutique hotel with its wonderful views, great rooms and splendid hospitality. The staff were very helpful and we felt extremely safe in the hotel and in the neighbourhood.
Valparaiso is not to be missed!

Especially from the 3rd floor balcony which offers a wonderful view of the Pacific Ocean. It's a spacious area with lots of seating..a nice place to visit with others. The room was adequate and the breakfast very pleasant...had the weather been better, we could have taken it out to the 1st floor balcony. Great location away from the busy streets and far enough up the hill to be private in this residential neighbourhood. All in all, a very pleasant stay...in this UNESCO world heritage site which is a wonderful city with much history and culture.

Room Tip: Pay extra for the sea view....we didn't realize how important it was. Third floor is a long way...

The hotel was beautiful, views from the seaside rooms or the 1st floor and 3rd floor balconies were alone a reason to stay here. Delicious breakfast and snacks/coffee provided throughout the day. We loved that is was located up the hill farther than other hotels (so away from busy streets) but close enough to walk the neighborhood and have several choices of restaurants, shopping and cafes.
When we arrived, we were greeted by Macarena- she showed us to our room, gave us a great restaurant recommendation (cafe vanilo- just a few blocks away), and helped us decide what sites to see in Valpo. She really made our trip fantastic!
We will definitely stay here again when we return!

Room Tip: Splurge and ask for a seaside room, you also get a personal balcony to enjoy the view. I would assum...

Stunning views, magnificent interior and fabulous staff who could not do enough.

An ideal place for a romantic short break for those who want "Very nice."

Sadly I was by myself and on business! Such is life.

Hotel is located on "Happy Hill" above the noisy part of the city where there are lots of nice cafes, restaurants and bars.

The city itself is being beautifully refurbished as a UNESCO world heritage site.

Yes I liked it a lot.

Room Tip: No swimming pool but the breakfast was excellent and came free.

My family of 5 stayed here last week. The hotel is a old family home that has been beautifully converted to a modern boutique hotel. It still retain many of the aspects of the home, which make it very welcoming to the guests. Our room on the top floor had a terrace and a spectacular view of the city. The service was great. I would highly recommend.

I spent two days with my husband. I have been to "Valpo" and Viña before but on the big hotels, this was my first time on a "hotel boutique" and I loved it!!.
This was my first time really walking in Valpo. Cerro Alegre is just surprising!! early in the morning you can see the wonderful view and the buildings are really beautiful, at the evening you can walk back the same street but it has a different style, restaurants, pubs, art galleries, etc. I love it. And the hotel is just half block walking, so you are close enough but not too much (some of us love to have a good sleep at nigth).
The hotel building was so nice and the service just perfect. For breakfast fruits, cereal, coffee, some cakes... just like having breakfast at some of your friends home, so "casero".
I have plans already to go back in spring time!! I really fell in love with the place.

Room Tip: I am not so sure but it was the last floor... may be 35? with a wonderful view to the sea and the ci...
