For my first visit in Santiago; this hôtel was a great choice. Centrally located, walking distance to a lot of attractions, shopping; dining. Breakfast and Internet included, gym, superb pool and business center. Hôtel gave me a 3:00 pm late checkout; helpful since my flight was in the evening. Hôtel staff also helped me to find a taxi to reach the airport. Subway station accross the street.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view on Higgins street; even if there is a lot of traffic; the noise does not...

I had a short stay in Santiago and this hotel worked well as a base for me, its central and a short walk from locations such as Plaza de Armas and has a metro stop nearby. There was also a marketplace just a couple of buildings away which is worth checking out as a tourist. If you're up early in the morning with a couple of hours to spare and fit, take a walk in the morning to San Christobal - amazing views.

The room itself was large, clean with a comfortable bed. I came across some reviews noting tiredness, it is perhaps a little but more just the furnishings look somewhat dated.

The staff were well presented and friendly, and check in/out went smoothly.

Generic: Quite simple hotel with all the needed facilities.
Staff: Most of the staff spoke English, and managed to understand my mediocre Spanish. Helpful when asking for information.
Location: As other posters has indicated, this is most probably one of their main selling point. Close to the metro, downtown, and most of the major tourist attractions. Easy to reach from the airport with public transportation. There is the Cerro Santa Lucia just across the road, the National Library and about 5 mins walk to the local Artesenal Market.
Breakfast: An ok spread, but from quality point of view, sometimes a bit of a letdown (e.g., pancakes left for so long in the heat, that it was hard as stone, dried breads, sausages that tasted plasticy).
Room: Sufficiently large, beds are good. Though I do compare a Mercure to be equivalent of Fourpoints/HI, yet it seems more like a HI express/Ibis hotel.
Will return to this hotel only if the price is right.

Room Tip: View is best with rooms facing the main road, but if noise is an issue, will suggest to get rooms fa...

I spent one night in Santiago at the end of a South American cruise in December. The Mercure Santiago Centro's main selling point is its location. It is very close to the downtown core and right next to Santa Lucia metro station. There is an artisan market a block away as well as a supermarket about a 10 minute walk away. Diagonally across from the hotel is the lovely Santa Lucia Hill which is well worth the short hike to the top where you can get a panoramic view of the city. Admission is free. City highlights such as the Plaza de Armas and Mercado Central are within easy walking distance.

The hotel itself is fairly modern with large rooms and good furniture and fixtures. The elevator is a bit small and lobby is small. The hotel entrance is not easily visible from the street. There're is a lovely rooftop pool on the 5th floor with a small fitness centre. The breakfast is included and is substantial, with both hot and cold breakfast options and a fantastic raspberry juice that you should definitely try.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. The price was hard to beat for a 4-star hotel (although some North Americans may not deem it as being the same standard as they may be used to for a 4-star). I would definitely stay there again and think it is a very safe choice for a stay in Santiago.

Recently had a quick business trip to santiago. Very nice and professional staff but compared to their competition this hotel is extremely tired. I have stayed at other Caesar Park hotels (this is a former part of that chain) and the rooms at this hotel have not been upgraded at all since the change over. The carpet in the floor was old and stained and the blanket in the bed was a synthetic version that I really did not want on the bed. If this hotel is to live up to the mercure standard a major renovation is required, and until that time it should be made clear that the hotel is not yet at that standard.

The Mercure doesn't look like much from the street, but we were pleasantly surprised by the rooms. They are standard Mercure with standard amenities and breakfast, but standard Mercure is pretty good. The hotel is also a good value. But by far the best thing about the hotel is the location. I wouldn't stay anywhere else as a tourist to Santiago. It is around the corner from a metro station, which can get you anywhere in the city very conveniently. It is also in walking distance from Lastarria (with nice cafes and restaurants), Bellavista (where La Chascona, Pablo Neruda's house, is), the base of the funicular to San Cristobal Hill, and the attractions of La Moneda, Plaza de Armas, and numerous churches, etc. It is also very near Londres street, where you can visit one of the torture centers which is now a memory space (not a museum), and numerous street markets and restaurants. The hotel is right across the street from the National Library and many of the rooms have great views of this and Cerro Santa Lucia and even Cerro San Cristobal. The ability to walk to so many places makes this hotel perfectly positioned to explore the city. The free wifi was also a great perk. The service was also very nice, and they even allowed us to check in a little bit early. We will definitely return.

We recently stayed here for 2 nights. Being my first time to Santiago, I wasnt sure which part of the city I should stay in. I choose Mercure because it seemed to have a central location. I priced it on multiple sites and got the best price from the hotels website when I was signed into my Accorhotels Le Club account. The price was very reasonable. Upon arrival, since it was about 11am, we could not check in. They (in additional to all hotels we stayed in on this trip) take the 2pm check in time very seriously. They stored out luggage and we went out and explored. The front desk staff were very nice and it is a 24 hour front desk which made a difference when we had to check out to make a super early flight. We had a few questions about the city and they were all very helpful. The only issue we encountered was that our in room safe was broken. The did not have another room to move us to so they swapped out the broken safe for a new safe. I was fine with this solution. The only annoying part was that from the time we first called about the problem it took almost an hour for someone to come to our room to look at the safe eventhough we were told they would be there in 5 minutes. Breakfast was included with the rate. I thought the breakfast was perfect. Pastries, cereals, oatmeal, cheeses, eggs, coffee, tea.
The hotels location ended up being really good. We walked most places we wanted to see around the hotel. The subway stop is right next to the hotel if you need to take the subway somewhere and also a bus stop in front. It really is centrally located.
Overall I really enjoyed this hotel and I would recommend it.
