On a busy, and noisy, junction, the Riviera is in a good location for exploring Santiago. Downtown with shops and sightseeing, Santa Lucia hill and the restaurants of Lastarria are close by. The building is quite old and this is reflected in the rooms. I had to change rooms and while one was bright and airy, the other was dingy and oppressively hot even with a fan. The hotel is popular with tour groups and quite busy. The staff try to be helpful but seem overwhelmed by sheer numbers and have the appearance of startled rabbits. I find it a bit difficult to give it a recommendation so I'll just say it's OK.
