I can only add to what other reviewers have said -- this hotel is outstanding in all regards: small, local, well-located (near Plaza Italia and a stop on Santiago's fine Metro), and most importantly, a young, eager and well-trained staff. They are welcoming, professional and skilled: big hotels should train their staffs at this property. I had a billing issue which was resolved quickly, professionally and to my satisfaction by the manager. All Santiago hotels offer breakfast in the price: Su Merced's is prepared to order and good.
My wife and I stayed in the hotel for seven nights in early October so we had a good opportunity to observe the hotel. The hotel's web site offered a 25% discount for a 'no change' reservation which is a worthwhile discount. The rooms facing the park are louder with a better view -- choose whichever works best for you. The property is in walking distance of several good restaurants through a pleasant neighborhood.

Room Tip: The difference between rooms is size: I thought the larger room worth the price differential over t...

A charming boutique hotel, in Lastarria district.
Very helpful, charming staff. They will go the extra mile to make your stay memorable. Clean, comfortable, well presented rooms. A fabulous restaurant downstairs, serves bfast, lunch & dinner. Prices are reasonable.
The district is full of shops, wine bars, charming things to see and do -
Cerro Lucia for the spectacular views of Santiago,
local fish markets for seafood lunch
Santiago fine arts museum.
Will definitely return

Stayed 2 nights here in September. Great tourist location, close to transport and places of interest. Funky room with a super comfy bed. Very clean, and a large bathroom. Extremely comfortable. Good food served in the restaurant and very friendly and accommodating staff. A small boutique hotel was a refreshing change to the large hotels we had been staying in. Breakfast was a little unappetising is my only downside.

This charming boutique hotel is doing things right. Not only did they save us at the last minute from another nights stay at a less then desirable place, they went above and beyond. Wonderful rooms, clean & spacious. Artwork throughout the hotel is amazing especially when you take the time to learn the stories behind them and find out they are handmade. This is not a chain, this is family owned and run.

Restaurant downstairs serves amazing food from fresh ingredients. The neighborhood this hotel is at is called the Lasarrier district and is full of shops, wine bars, charming things to see and do. We spent the next day walking over to and up the Cerro Lucia for the spectacular views of Santiago. The staff will help you get to whatever you would like to see.
Without a shadow of a doubt, if we head back to Santiago this will be where we stay again.

Room Tip: Get one facing the park if you can.

I stayed at Su Merced for 2 weeks in June 2013 while working in Santiago and was charmed by the hotel and the staff. The room and bathroom were sparkling clean and everything worked perfectly (including the wi-fi). The breakfast was ample and delicious. The staff goes out of its way to assist guests in any way possible: for example, one helped me reserve bus tickets in Argentina, another made sure that I had all of my boarding passes printed fine. Everyone working there was warm, friendly, and welcoming. Other perks: the hotel can arrange for transportation to and from the airport. While not cheap, the service is reliable, safe, and prompt. The hotel's location is ideal, near the pleasant Lastarria area for local dining, and a hop, skip, and a jump away from a major metro stop. When I return to Santiago, I will definitely return to Su Merced.

Very stylish and comfortable rooms albeit a bit pricey, intimate and friendly restaurant, very helpful English speaking front desk and very close to the centre. Very good breakfast. They have a lovely lounge area on level four, with a nice outlook over Parque Forestal, where you can just chill out and indulge in a free cup of tea. Good wifi. Easy stroll to the metro station at Plaza Italia. Rooms facing Su Merced are noisy so make sure you get one facing Coronel Santiago Coronel. On the downside is the fact that all rooms come off a central stairwell, so noise does seem to echo up and down somewhat and that can be a bit of a problem when people are coming in late at night. However we were happy with this place and even stayed here a second time after a trip to Valpo.

Room Tip: Make sure not to get a room facing Su Merced - too noisy.

I've been traveling thought Central and South America for the past 90 days and this place by far has it all. Great location, Great service, amazing food/wine and the rooms are fantastically designed, ultra clean and very hip. I normally stay in small niche hotels thoughout the world and this one was one my favorites . From the manager walking me around to help get me familiar with this new location to the front staff acting like personal assistants, faxing, email, scanning they do it all. Look no further. Enjoy.

Room Tip: Stay on the 3rd floor suite 9 if you can swing it. You will be on the top floor alone, hudge patio...
