“Enjoy the walk!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Well worth the walk up that hill. The views along the way and at the top are spectacular. There's lots of services when you get there, even some pretty excellent swimming pools, so take your togs.

Beautiful place with nice panorama of Santiago. Perfect for afternoon trip and then to relax on Pio Nono.

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

The are a number of ways to the summit -walk, hire a mountain bike or the easiest is via the funicular. The views from the top would be spectacular, although the day we visited the smog limited the views of the Andes and city proper. Given that Santiago is sandwiched between several mountain ranges, smog is a perennial problem so you would need to be fortunate to strike a totally clear day.
There is a zoo near the foot of the hill that is also worth a visit for an hour or two. It was a great opportunity to see some of the South American animals and birds up close although the enclosures are quite small and life for the exhibits is a bit sad when you benchmark it against some of the newer world class zoos.

Santyago has no benefits being seen from the hill. All you see are houses from differant areas of the city.Nothing exciting that will make the trip worthwhile.

“A must see!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

We went up the hill by taking a collectivo because the funicular was not working and the busses already stop their service (around 4PM). The view up there is fantastic. Santiago is so big!
we went down wlaking but eh be aware that it`s a looong way!
