“Great Airport Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

This is an airport hotel, and I would not reccomend staying here if you want to see more of the city. For my husband and I, we had an overnight layover in SCL on valentines day. We came to the hotel at 9am, unable to stand trying to stay awake at the airport any longer. We were checked in early without a fee. The room was comfortable. Breakfast was a full buffet with fresh fruit, cereal, pastries, breads, and lunch meats. We had valentines day dinner here, which was really good. Cheap wine and amazing salmon at the restaurant. Staff is not too friendly, but there is a free shuttle there and back. Good value for a good night's rest.

We were looking for a hotel close to the airport, as we arrived late in the evening and were flying out later the next morning. A very clean comfortable and spacious room greeted us after a long day of travel. The complimentary airport transfer, arranged from the TRANSVIP desk at the airport, worked seamlessly, and on arrival we were greeted by very welcoming and friendly staff. Buffet breakfast next morning was one of the best we had enjoyed on our travels. Internet access was very good, and for once it was great not to have to worry with passwords. The complimentary shuttle back to the airport left every 30 minutes and only took a few minutes.

The hotel staff are very helpful and spoke English well. We only had one day here only 3 mileage from airport and they recommended we take a personal taxis tour which they arranged for us. We were very happy with results. The rooms were fine: spacious and clean, although I was disappointed to find carpets in the room. We had no problem getting the shuttle to the airport in the morning which was at no cost. There seems to be a 'public dog' hanging around outside the hotel who became the pet of anyone going out for a walk

Room Tip: Room service was very good and quieter. We recommended to next stay with them.

If you have any kind of layover at Santiago Airport, the Diego de Almegro is a life saver! Ten minutes from the airport with free shuttle service, and very reasonable prices. The staff is super helpful if you have any issues to iron out. They even held the room for some friends of ours until it was certain they made their flight. Rooms are comfortable and serve their purpose. Breakfast is included and it's quite tasty. There is excellent outdoor space, quiet and restful.

The rooms were fine: spacious and clean, although I was disappointed to find carpets in the room. We had no problem getting the shuttle to the airport in the morning which was at no cost. We used the business center computor and printer also at no additional cost. There seems to be a 'public dog' hanging around outside the hotel who became the pet of anyone going out for a walk. It never came into the hotel. Someone left it water and it would get fed by guest coming and going.

Due to a cancelled plane from Miami we arrived in Santiago at 9pm at the airport without a reservation. The Holiday Inn at the airport was full but they suggested the Diego de Almagro which was a free shuttle from the airport. They had a vacancy (very reasonable at $135.US dollars. And we were relieved. Every thing was excellent including a very nice breakfast.

Tip: the dinner we had at the hotel was one of the best ever at a hotel and very reasonable. I had the baked salmon on a bed of fresh vegetables and my wife has the smoked salmon on a salad. Both superb!!

After a very long day this hotel was perfect.

Room Tip: We were Ono the 6th floor which was very nice
