We attended an international meeting arranged by a Chilean host organization, and had therefore not chosen this specific hotel. When we arrived, we asked for a room from where we could enjoy the view of the beautiful mountains. We then got a room at floor 15, with the reservation that we had to wait a few hours before we could move in. As a compensation we was offered a free breakfast. Having inspected the big, but cold (winter season) outdoor swimming pool and the fitness centre with sauna, we, just before noon, got access to our room, which was gorgeous!
Breakfast every morning was good, even if not over whelming. We had one buffet lunch at the Anakena restaurant, which also really good. We have no complaint concerning the service, but we were surprised that the staff were not really aware of the privileges Hyatt is offering its Gold Passport holders. We seem to be the first who had asked for "complimentary newspaper, daily coffee ...". After some internal discussions among the hotel staff, we finally got our "extras" totally aside the ordinary routines, as we understood it.
The location requires you to either go by taxi, which we do not like, or walk to the end station "Escuela Militar" of the red Metro line. There is a lot of buses passing Hyatt, but you need to have a Bip-card for the payment, and such magnetic cards can only be bought at the Metro stations. As we understood it, you can go with this card on Metro and any buses for CLP 380 within 90 minutes.
