I get to Santiago a lot but mostly stay at the new hotels in the "new downtown" at Los Condes near my clients offices. The Crowne Plaza Santiago has been around a few years but is a very good place for business travelers or vacationers who can afford it. It isn't in the middle of downtown, but with two Metro subway stops a few minutes away, it is a good place to stay. The staff were very helpful on my last visit and the breakfast in the private lounge on the top floor was very well done.
