“Nice but small rooms and bathrooms..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

The place is in great location with a short walk to Bellavista neighborhood (food, drinks, partying) & Patio, San Cristobal Hill, Santa Lucia Hill, and Lastarria Neighborhood (food and drinks). Very clean hotel and very helpful staff. They will go out of there way to make sure you have a good time in Sanitago and get everywhere you want to go safely. We had a little balocney overlooking the courtyard which was nice. The common areas are large and well appointed. Nice continental breakfast in the morning. The rooms are small and the bathrooms are tiny. The shower curtain is literally jammed in your crack while showering. But if you can look past that no problem. All this being said I would stay at this hotel again.

We were traveling from Mendoza to Santiago via bus, but were delayed a couple of days due to some unexpected snowfall closing the Chilean border in the Andes. We ended up arriving late and having to change our reservation multiple times, but the staff at Hotel Loreto could not have been more accommodating and understanding and totally adjusted all of our reservations based on our later arrival. This was our home away from home after being stuck in the snowy Andes for a long, long time, which was not very much fun.

We arrived lacking sleep, cold, and disheveled and were immediately treated to what was one of the best breakfasts of our entire South American trip. They have eggs! Both boiled and scrambled. Such a luxury based on our breakfasts everywhere else. Also Chirimoya juice! SO GOOD. Really nice breakfast though with tons of options and the gentleman who typically sets breakfast up is really nice.

Anyways, as to the hotel itself, it's very modern, very clean, very nicely designed, quiet, and really comfortable. There is a nice rooftop terrace where you can chill out with a bottle of wine and watch the sunset, little living room areas with TV's on the upper floors (we hung out here for a while waiting on our late flight out), and a really cool court yard as well. The location is actually great. To one side of the hotel, near the markets, you'll find it almost eerily quiet and a little spooky at night since everyone leaves at about 5 or 6 pm, but in the other directions you've got all the museums and downtown just across the river (like a 3 minute walk, for real), and then in the other direction Barrio Bellavista with so many great dining options, night life, bars, clubs, and then Constitucion after that. Really cool area and along with Lastarria, our favorite parts of town to hang out at night.

Great hotel! We loved it. Thanks!

I stayed 17 nights in this very pleasant hotel set in the lively and cosmopolitan Bella Vista district of Santiago (Recoleta). Staff were consistently pleasant and obliging, even if one receptionist made life confusing by pretending not to have as many problems with her English as I do with Spanish. The breakfast man was a real gem: obliging, proud and friendly. The main man on the front desk was friendly and efficient. Always a smile and a friendly greeting from staff on entering or leaving the hotel. The cleaning staff were also very pleasant and helpful but laundry and (as usual) mini-bar prices were rather steep, I thought. I couldn't afford to stay on there once my work in Santiago was over (i.e. it was a little too expensive for someone of modest means). Still, it's a very nice, quiet, clean hotel situated close to great and very reasonably priced simple eating establishments like the Syrian-run Rincon Arabesca and the Peruvian Sazón Criollo (both on the hotel side (west) of Loreto walking towards the river).

Really a pleasant hotel. The staff was exceptionally nice, friendly and helpful. Noteworthy, and I'm not sure why, but the man taking care of the very nice included breakfast was incredibly efficient and proud of his work! Pretty good location - the couple of blocks to the hot part of town felt a bit sketchy after dark so I recommend walking with at least another. Loved the street murals all around. The room was clean and comfortable, but really small. Same with the bathroom. I'd stay there again as a nice place on a budget.

Room Tip: I had a ground floor which opened to the courtyard. Had wine sitting out there so the room felt &qu...

We stayed here on two separate occasions in different rooms and found the reception staff were very good. On our second stay we arrived late in the evening and tired so a young woman at reception named Katia called a cook from a nearby pizza place to come over and take our orders so we could eat in the upstairs lounge. She very happily brought us cutlery, plates and a bottle of red wine from the hotel's collection. The rooms were very clean and quiet. Some bathrooms were tiny compared to others in the hotel. Breakfast served in the back of the main floor area was just fine with scrambled eggs, toast, cereals, ham, cheese and the usual stuff. For the price this hotel was well worth it. If you're into a night time excursion there are plenty of bars, clubs and restaurants about four blocks away that go all night.

There is no parking and and precious little room on the narrow street to unload from your taxi.

Room Tip: There is no elevator and there are two floors of rooms above the main lobby. Although there is someo...

We enjoyed our stay here. It was very clean, safe and close to the metro station. It is a few minutes walk from the meeting point for a free walking tour, Tours For Tips, as well as all of the main markets: seafood, flowers, produce, etc. there are several good restaurants within walking distance. The room wasa little small but adequate and the breakfast was very good. Nice, friendly, helpful staff.

The hotel has a great location, which is very close to everything. Was very impressed with all of the staff, most spoke English and all were very helpful, they were more than happy to show me what to do, where to eat, and how to get there (I didn't do any research and I can't speak spanish) . They always said hello and asked how my day was, which was very important to me. Even the cleaners said holla
The rooms were clean and tidy, I stayed in a single room which had a very comfortable double bed..was slightly on the small side.. But was very happy for what I paid.
They even helped me out when I didn't know I needed a travel adapter.. They had one for me to borrow
Was very impressed (in Australian standards) and will definitely stay there again.
