“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2013

The only positive is its central location, 2 blocks east of Plaza de Armas. The apartments are very small. The pictures are misleading. The furniture is very basic. The kitchen is small and poorly equipped. WiFi was not reliable. It seems that this company rents a number of apartments in the building and 'resells' them to tourists and visitors on a daily basis. They have no control over any of the building amenities. The rooftop pool was closed by the building management, and no one knew when it would reopen. The office is located in an apartment on the 2nd floor and is open only 9am-6pm. No service available after 6pm.

OMG if you could see this dump you would know what I mean. How does this place rate 3 stars? It is filthy - period. The under counter fridge doesn't even work. There is no soap. The towel rack is broken. The furniture? Well, let's see, there isn't much of any. The linens...disgusting. I am only here for one night thank goodness and will sleep with my clothes on and eyes & ears open. Oh, did I mention the balcony door doesn't lock, and the traffic noise is unbearable. I have an early flight so will tough it out.
Don't stay here, that's all I can say - unless your other option is sleeping on a park bench.
One positive note: the desk staff did not speak any English but did try their best to help me call a taxi for the morning.

Room Tip: Find other accommodations.

It is a high-rise building with los of apartments inside. It's a nice, big apartment with a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. Service is great - the caretaker will come up to your room if you call to help with anything. Location is AMAZING - it is less than two blocks from Plaza de Armas, which is a huge tourist location. It is also walking distance from all the main tourist spots in Santiago. Great security, with a gate at the street entrance, and then a few more card swipes to get to your door, where you have your own personal key. Our only complaint was that

I stayed at the Torre Tagle for 5 nights. The reception was not as good as I expected and the employees didn’t know how to speak English at all. The first night was terrible, the room was filthy, and the heater was broken (it was about 6 degrees Celsius outside, or 43 Fahrenheit). After we complained to the manager she was able to fix the heater by the 3rd night, about the dirt she explained that the lady who cleans the rooms was sick (we obviously did not believe that) but at the 2nd day the room was very neat.

At the end I actually enjoyed my stay at the Torre Tagle, the room was very appealing, there was free wi-fi available, and since the manager was able to solve all of our problems our stay turned out to be very pleasant.
This condo complex is also very well located (it is about 2 minutes from the Plaza de Armas metro station and there are lots of good and affordable restaurants around the area).

I would probably search for better options the next time I visit Chile, but still Torre Tagle was a very affordable option and was able to fulfill our needs during our one week stay.

ps: Like it is said on the other reviews, Torre Tagle is not a hotel but a condo complex, which means that services like breakfast, lunch and dinner are not included in the reservation package.

A change in travel plans meant a move to here from Soho Apartments and how disappointed were we. Dirty. Not just dirty when we arrived, but the situation went on. Once they realised that we were there for a few days, they just came in for a quick flick & change of towels and then left again. Two draws in the cupboard and two shelves in the wardrobe were thick with dust and the last guest had left his food plastered all over the microwave. Looking around, it wasn't our dirt or our hair! Enough equipment in the kitchen to have a basic meal and a Lider supermarket within easy walking distance. Television was only in the bedroom. Apartment was cold. Wi-fi was consistent & strong. No safe for valuables, no breakfast - not even tea or coffee. Beware in the bathroom - that shower is strong - water all over the place. Very odd smell in the corridors. And we had to pay an extra $10 a night for what was better at Soho.

This is not a hotel, it is a condo complex. We arrived after midnight only to find the gates locked and only managed to get in after someone came out of the complex. The neighborhood at night was scary - street walkers and people digging in the trash. It was advertised as having a balcony that overlooked the city - it overlooks a roof and is more of a Juliette balcony. We stayed one night (supposed to stay two) and moved to the Sheraton. It was clean, but if you dont speak Spanish and don't know the area, you are better off staying at a real hotel.

Wanted to stay somewhere nicer for my last day to recoup after a month long trip. Booked this last minute and was a pretty good deal. Nice apartment for not much more than I'd spend for two people at a hostel. Right next to Cerra Santa Lucia, so well located. I had a flight the next day at 6pm and needed a late checkout the older fellow at the desk really worked hard despite my poor spanish to arrange this for me. The manager met me and all was well. Clean, great kitchen, TV, bed, balcony. Looked very secure. Maybe a bit lacking if you were looking for an in-hotel breakfast or arranged tours or something though.
