“OK Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

I stayed in the AH Hotel for 2 nights in August 2012. For my first night, I stayed in a spacious and clean suite. The suite was very clean and had heaters in both rooms, nice flat screen TV and good internet wi-fi connection and a modern bathroom. It was a very comfortable suite. Prior to being placed in this room, I was given a room in the basement that had water damage and a significant amount of mold on the bathroom walls and parts of the wall in the bedroom. This basement room also had a moldy smell. I requested to change the room because of the health risks associated with mold. The hotel was able to accomodate me for one night. The staff was hepful and friendly.

The next day I switched rooms to a different room in the basement. The second room was better than the first, but still had a slight problem with mold and a musty odor in the bathroom.

If I never had the experience with the basement rooms, I would say that this is a good hotel and would recommend it. I truly enjoyed the room on the 2nd floor and had no complaints and wished I could have stayed there (hotel was fully booked). Unfortuantely, due to my experiences with the basement rooms, I would not stay here again.

This was a wonderfully located, simple but comfortable hotel.

The staff were without exception very helpful and courteous, and my stay was a pleasant one.

Someone looking to stay at a venue with lots of activities would not want to stay here, but if you're like me and just want a comfortable place to sleep with a clean bathroom, this is perfect. I don't like to spend my holidays in hotels!

I willl look this place up again when next I travel to Chile.

Room Tip: The ground floor is only slightly noisy, if you're sensitive to street sounds, you might request...

Basic hotel. Manager wasn't very friendly and our TV in our room didn't work and he didn't bothered to fix it or change our room even though hotel wasn't full. View of room was a brick wall. Breakfast was very basic too. The beds were nice and clean and bathroom was modern and clean too.

We stayed for 2 nights at the AH Hotel and then 1 more night after seeing Valparaiso. The staff are super-friendly (Nicholas was there when we first checked in) and very knowledgeable. Ask them about local foods and markets. They helped us book a wine tour and a taxi to the airport for a very early morning flight. Ask them anything (and yes, they speak English perfectly)! The rooms are clean and basic with comfortable beds and crisp sheets. It can be loud from the echo in the hall but nothing some ear plugs can't fix easily. You're in walking distance of a lot of the markets and neighborhoods and also in between two subway stations. You can access the free wi-fi in the lobby area and breakfast is basic but nice (toast, yogurt, cereal, coffee and tea). I highly recommend AH Hotel as it's a great value and you can't go wrong.

We stayed for two nights prior to a cruise. Could not have found a friendlier, more helpful staff. Everyone spoke enough English to help us get by. You are in the best location to walk to most sights and restaurants. In front of the hotel is a bus stop for multiple buses. Park Forestal starts right across the street. We rented a two-room unit. The bedroom in the back is quiet and the front room has the view. The air-conditioning worked well. The breakfast is minimal but there is a large supermarket one block away. When we arrived, Douglas helped us bring our luggage up to the room (there's no elevator) The central location outweighs the street noise. Great value for what you get.

Room Tip: Two-room unit, bedroom in the back is quiet. Rooms on the first floor will get some noise from peopl...

We stayed for several nights at the AH Hotel on both ends of our trip to Easter Island. We really loved what we experienced there. The desk staff (especially Douglas!) was very friendly and accomodating. The rooms are clean and the beds are amazingly comfortable. The shower is wonderful! We stayed in the second room on the first floor across from the check in room and asked for it again when we returned. No airconditioning but it is not needed as the room stays really cool, even though we were in Chile during their summer. Found several great places to eat within walking distance. Close to Plaza de Armas; probably a 15 minute walk at most. Would stay here again. In fact, would not contemplate staying anywhere else in Santiago!

Room Tip: Ask for room off of the street which is very busy.
