If you love to open your room door and say "Aaaah!", this is the place where to stay in Puerto Varas. The lovely rooms have outstanding views. The restaurant serves very good fish. The bar is cozy. The little shop has an excellent choice of gifts and the spa is as good as all the rest. The only problem is one day you will have to pack and leave! However, enjoy while it lasts.

My third time as a guest at this hotel. The view over Lake Llanquihue towards Calbuco and Osorno volcanoes is so impressive, the visit is worth it just for that! But fortunately the staff at Hotel Cumbres do not rest on their laurels. They offer a clean and uncomplicated hotel (in a good way) with spacious rooms and relaxing communal areas. I also tested the concierge service this time to arrange some fly-fishing with a friend - needless to say, I was not disappointed! I hope to return!

We booked this hotel for a 200-people-4-day-international-conference in December, 2012. Although event coordination took place in Santiago, our executive Daniela reassured us we needed not worry, because the hotel would take care of every detail. And it was a success, thanks to the wonderful hotel staff that worked hard, was flexible, and always willing to go the extra mile. I cannot find a single thing to complain about, considering that big events can be quite challenging for all those involved.

The hotel worked with us as an extension of our team to make the event the success we wanted it to be. And with Daniela overseeing every detail, making sure the right people in the hotel understood their tasks, having this event in Hotel Cumbres was truly a breeze. Apart from that, the hotel itself is wonderful, with some spectacular views of the lake, and only a few minutes’ walk from town centre.

I would certainly recommend it for similar events, and would especially recommend Daniela Terc who proved to a very reliable, committed and professional executive.

Hanifa

Everything about this place was just right. Beautiful, comfortable and unpretentious, with lovely service and very nice food.

We arrived jetlagged and bedraggled in the evening of December 24th. The woman who checked us in kindly offered to put us on the list for the sold-out, prix fixe Christmas Eve dinner, and realizing that our odds for finding anything in town were slim, I accepted. Given the captive-audience situation, I was expecting something mediocre, but it was downright delightful. Elegant food and nice wine graciously served in a pretty setting--all for $50 a person. They even prepared a special dish for my son, who couldn't eat the entree due to a nut allergy. We were quite pleased with the food on other days as well. The fish is exceptionally well prepared.

The room was lovely, with a spectacular view of the Lago Llanquihue and the Osorno volcano (when it came out from behind the clouds). Service was reliable and kind. The only thing I would fault was the Internet connectivity, which could be exasperating at times. I finally called the front desk about it, and the next day it was much improved.

I would happily return tomorrow, if only it weren't so many thousands of miles away...
