“Amazing location and excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2011

The cabins are located away from town, with superb views of the volcano. The cabins are basic and clean. The property is very child friendly with lots of room for kids to run around - a hot and cold pool and swing sets.

What ever you feel it may lack, the owners more than make up for it with their enthusiasm, willingness to help and a hearty breakfast.

As previous people have rated, the service and surroundings at Mirador is outstanding. From the front of the cabin you have a great view of Villarrica volcano, as well as the countryside.

The cabana we stayed at had two rooms, a reasonably-sized bathroom with shower, a livingroom/dining room with kitchen. Outdoors featured a large deck and a traditional grill. The kitchen contained a fridge, stove, microwave, pots and pans, dishes and wine glasses. There was also a drying rack that proved to be useful.

As it was hot out the "cold" pool was also a great treat. We used the "hot" pool a bit, but couldn't figure out how to turn on the tub.

While it is nice to be outside of town, if you want access to restaurants it is about a 30 minute drive from town. This was also a bit of a challenge when waking up for our volcano climb.

The only other minor complaint was the bed, where the pillows were flat and the bed hard. Not enough to deter a recommendation, but just a note for those who may be more fussy. Also, they didn't have Internet, but the host was more than willing to either lend you his stick or his laptop.

Overall, the comfort, service and view make the drive worth it.

First of all, the communication before our arrival was excellent , Christian answered all our questions and gave us recommendations about activities and stuff to do in town (Pucon). The location is easy to get to but keep your eyes open is way up the mountain. Is right after the Liucuria River bridge. Their property is beautiful , well maintained and the owners are friendly and eager to help you. They have many animals ,like sheep, rabbits, many different birds ect… you are in nature. And the view was unreal...
Cabins are great, very clean and with a fire place. Place is quiet, no cars, or noise from other people. Is in the country… really, but just 15 min. drive to Pucon. Hot water , breakfast and loving people. The recommendations for Canopy, rafting and horseback riding where excellent , safe and affordable.
We where there during Christmas and on the 25th the owners and their family dress up like Santa and went to all the cabins, bringing breakfast and a gift for us. (accompany by a heard of sheep)
I highly recommend this place for your stay in Pucon, Chile

I'm from the SU and am currently an English teacher in Santiago, 25 years old. My parents came to visit and I knew we had to go to Pucon for a few days. I checked out this site and found Mirador at the top so I went ahead and booked it. I can't say enough about how great of an experience staying there was. Cristian and his wife, who run the whole establishment, are probably the nicest and most genuine people I've met in my life. We only stayed there for 1 day because I wanted to check out a couple other places as well, but they treated us like family! Cristian even drove us 25 minutes to our next hotel! The views are amazing, the cabins have everything you can ever need, and they even go shopping at the store for you if you need anything! All-in-all, i can't recommend this place enough and it's a definite stop for anyone trying to get away from the big city for a bit.

We were looking for somewhere to stay close to Pucon. It was a romanic weekend away and so we decided to choose somewhere a little outside of Pucon.

We were not dissapointed. Our hosts met us in Pucon and we followed them back to the cabins. (This is recommended as the sign can be easy to miss). Basically it is about 14km outside of pucon or about 8km before Caburga. Around 200m before the Ojos de Caburga turnoff.

On arrival (and evey night we returned) the fireplace is lit, the cabin is warm and clean and the lights are on. We spent the first evening in the heated jacuzzi (by the pool area), which is on a covered wooden deck, overlooking the valley. In the distance we could stare at the red glow of Villarrica volcano while relaxing in the hot water.

All in all - excellent and attentive service from our hosts. Clean, comfortable and well fitted cabins, peaceful...romantic surroundings and the most spectacular view of the volcanos.

I saw a previous comment about the heating. There is one fireplace in the lounge - which works very well - but you may find it a little nippy in the morning. I quite liked getting up before a little before my girlfriend and doing the "manly" thing and starting the fire! (If you put the fireplace on minimum before you go to bed, all you have to do is put some newspapers in the next morninng and blow). Still a small oil heater would be appreciated in the bedroom.

I cannot recommend these cabins enough - if you have any doubts please email me and I'm sure I can settle them :)

We arrived at Mirador after a long dive on challanging (but fun) roads through the mountains. After first meeting both the hosts, Gracilia and Cristian, we were shown to our lovely 'cabana'. We pulled our car into the nice level parking spot and immedialtly after getting out of the car we noticed that one of our tires was VERY flat (a long nail punctured it in two places). Since there were many parts of our drive where it would have been quite difficult, if not impossible to change a tire, we considered it a blessing that it happened here. Cristian insisted on helping Rich with the tire and even refused a tip when they finished. He simply wanted to help. Cristian continued this kindness throughout our short stay. He went as far as to give Rich the hat off his head when Rich mentioned he liked it! (We then gave him one we had from the states, in return)

The cabana itself is exactly what we like. It was rustic, but quite comfortable. There are huge windows to enjoy the views from and a nice woodstove to create heat and atmosphere. It should be noted that this is the only heat source, so winter mornings could be chilly. However the bedding was nice and warm and the sun warms the cabin in the daytime. The kitcken and bathroom were both nice and well stocked. There was also plenty of hot water.

The property itself is the main draw. It is vast and on a hill with views of three volcanoes. Although the skies were mostly clear during our stay, the main volcano remained enshrouded in clouds until the last morning, when it finally decided to show its smoking cone to us. It was spectacular!

There are lots of things to do here, especially for children. The sheep graze right out front in the mornings and there are lots of places to safely explore. We really enjoyed the short zip-line (or 'canopy') that Cristian has installed on the property. Although Rich and his 6'5" frame did come fairly close to the landing platform!

It is a good 15 to 20 minute drive to town, so plan ahead and bring food if you are hungry. But it is close to manyof the local 'termas' (hot springs) which is a nice point.

We certainly hope to return some day.

We spent a great week in this place, away from the hustle and bustle of Pucon, but close enough to all the attractions in the area (lakes, hot springs, rivers, vocanoes, national parks, etc.). The setting is beautiful, with the imposing Villarrica Volcano dominating the horizon. Since it's located on a hill, the view is great, especially the sunsets.

The place is ideal for families with children. The cabins are cozy and located on green rolling hills where sheep graze. There is a swimming pool, games, canopy, woods and lots of space for the kids to run and play.

The best part is definitely the love and care that its owners put in every detail, especially in the daily contact with their guests. They make you feel at home, as part of the family.
