Mario, and his guide, Eduardo, were an excellent addition to my trip to Chile. After having a terrible experience with another local company, Mario and his company did a fantastic job putting me on Coho and Chinook Salmon, as well as Brown and Rainbow Trout.

They had top of the line equipment, excellent boat control, and friendly personalities. Thanks!

“Mario's is super!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2011

Professionally run operation with reasonable prices. A great experience well suited for avid fishermen or people just wishing to experience some of the local wilderness.

I live and work in Chile and my parents visited from Canada. My father was a fishing guide and fishing resort owner for 20 years and I am an avid fisherman. While in Pucón I hiked the volcano and we visited the national park, tried the local restaurants, and did some shopping in the local stores. The whole experience was great, but the highlight of our trip was the half day of fishing that we did with the help of Mario. We did a half day (5 hour) river float in two small, well maintained drift boats. We did a combination of fly fishing and spin casting for Rainbow trout, Brown trout, and Koho salmon. As you must as a fisherman, we set our expectations low, hoping to catch a couple small ones, and more so, enjoy the beautiful scenery on a beautiful day, which would have been perfectly enjoyable. As it turned out our expectations were greatly exceeded and we caught a approximately 20 fish, made up mostly of of small rainbows and browns, as well as a beautiful 2-3lb rainbow and 4+lb Koho. All fishing gear, fly and spinning, life jackets (optional), and refreshments including water, soda, and beer were included. The guides were excellent, they were both very friendly, knew the river and how to maneuver the boat exceptionally well, and are obviously avid fisherman themselves. The experience and guiding were such that it is very well suited for avid fishermen, occasional fishermen, or even people who don't wish to fish, but would like the experience of floating a pristine river through some of the most beautiful countryside you will find anywhere.
