Trawen was recommended by our Hostel, after reading some recent reviews was a little weary, so walked by, checked the menu, got good vibes - decided to have lunch. Everything was wonderful. Shared a few dishes - the shrimp/leek/cheese empanada was delicious, hot, big, nice hand made whole wheat pastry. The chicken salad w/ poppy seeds was fab as well, the chunks of local cheese in the salad topped it off. Had a sopa de camerones that was in a huge bowl, piping hot - with glass vermicelli noodles, a lovely light flavorful broth. Also ordered the smoked salmon sandwich which was packed with avocado, fresh baked bread/bun - this could have used a smidge of mayo or something to moisten it - maybe a squeeze of lemon. For dessert, the chocolate fondant was a choco fan's dream...still thinking about it. Think I'll go back tomorrow for more....Staff for us today were wonderful - all very nice. They kindly packed up the other half of my sandwich to take home. Eyes bigger than belly. Highly recommend this cozy little place.
