Never judge a book by its cover. If you like your Sichuan food, this is the place to go in Singers. From the crab (steamed or fried) to the prawns to the chicken with chillies (remember, they're for show, and don't try to show off), you're in for a treat. Sitting outside adds to the appeal of the place, and you can be even more masochistic and try walking on the cobbled stone circle that is meant to massage your feet. A gem in every sense of the word.

You'd never think from Hua Zhu's modest external experience belies a place which serves remarkable food. You HAVE to have their steamed crab with the green ginger sauce. The crab served is always fresh and the sauce, made from young ginger and spring onions with a hint of coriander, is to die for. It's not on the menu so don't bother looking for it. Just ask for it and you won't be disappointed. The sweet and sour pork too is very good.
