An established hotel chain of 23 hotels.
Could have picked any from the chain.
Decided to stay at Balestier as close proximity to my destination.
Took the SMRT from Changi and then a bus from Lavender.
Took less than 1 hour to arrive and check-in.
Such an efficient and hassle-free journey.

Staff were overly courteous. Not the fact that self am a hotelier.
They showed me the room prior without hesitation.
Rooms fairly large. With all basic amenities offered.
Complimentary bottled water and coffee making facilities appreciated.
Iron and board on request with S$5/- deposit. But was waive after all.

Housekeeping could have done better with the wet mops.
The floors felt "sticky" and smelt öff".
Bath towels are "below" expectations.
Time your shower for ample hot water.
Would have preferred soap bar instead of the "dispenser 3 in 1" stuff.

Convenient for food with large food court across the street.
Lots of 24/7 outlets for emergency purchases.
Tend to be bit "sleazy" with lots of "day users".
Will try out the other Fragrance hotels next trip.

Hotel staff were very courteous and accomodating. They even let us borrow their umbrella when it rained while we were on our way out. The rooms are clean, as well as the bathrooms. Hallways are rather narrow but tolerable since the elevator is not far from the hotel lounge. Conveniently located such that bus stops and trains are just a few minutes walk from the hotel.

I had a short break over new year in singapore and booked into this hotel. Definitely budget (no restaurant or bfast) but double ensuite rooms had decent aircon, TV and complimentary coffee/water.

Singapore has a rep for small and costly and this was small for a double. A little way from nearest rails station but taxis and buses are plentiful. One of many Fragrence hotels in Ballestaire so make sure you are specific to your taxi driver.

For bfast turn left out of hotel and walk 300m MCDonalds plus a selection of local restaurants. (both sides).

Would tay again for the price, only downside is trek for bfast

My selection of this hotel was entirely random. I had arrived at Changhi early in the afternoon and just needed an overnight hotel. I caught a train to the city and then asked a taxi driver to find me a budget hotel.

The check-in process was straight forward and needed a passport. The room had to be paid upon arrival.

The actual room was fairly basic. The bathroom was kind of built into the shower recess such that using the shower wets everything else in the bathroom so clothes have to stay outside. Basic amenities were provided in the bathroom ie soap, shampoo, toothbrush.

The bed was adequate and I slept well.

Next morning I was up early and on my way back to Changi fo ran early morning flight.

I would stay here again if I just needed a low cost overnight room. Perhaps next time I would research the Fragrance chain on the web to compare locations first.
