Although there are lots of pro and cons from several reviews we read online about Fragrance Hotel at Selegie Road, we decided to keep the booking. The room rate was the most economical (considering it was still peak-season) and we booked it for 3 nights. We got there around 4:30pm, check-in (quite fast), and went to our room which was on the very same level with the lobby. We expected the room to be very small from reading the previous reviews. And yes, we would say that the room is best recommended for Asian tourists because of its petite size. Bathroom was very small; distance between the toilet, shower, and sink only about 10inches away. The nicest thing about this hotel was its extreme cleanness! Breakfast was ok, no buffet but the same pre-selected menu everyday (except they change the bread type every morning) . The waitress and waitresses are the nicest people over there. We asked for directions and they were so helpful in getting us the right one :) The biggest advantage of this hotel is the location. Very convenient, only 5 minutes away from Little India MRT station, bus stop in front of the hotel...and one of our favorites: Very close to Mustafa Center, the 24-hour shopping mall in Singapore! Couldn't ask for a better place than Fragrance Hotel in Selegie Road.

Overall, we were pretty satisfied with this hotel. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our fellow backpackers or tourists who have limited budget and looking for the best money-can-buy accommodation :)

I booked this place in last minute desperation as no other affordable
rooms were available. Then I read the reviews on here and became concerned! However I found the Hotel fine.

True It's not the HIlton (which I had in fact stayed in a few nights earlier in KL) but if you are travelling alone and need a place to sleep it's fine. The room is very small and so is the toilet/shower room but it was very clean. I was provided with two clean towels in the room and personally found the staff very friendly and helpful.

The swimming pool was also very clean.

All in all I was pleasantly surprised especially after reading the reviews on here, and btw the way I've travelled a lot and stayed in many different places and am not that easy to please!!

Don't book this place if you are expecting luxury or space, but it does provide a clean comfortable nights sleep at a budget in Singapore.

Awful, Awful, Awful. Room was ridiculously small, the staff were incredibly rude, there was no fridge in the room as advertised and someone was murdered out the front of the place during our stay! i had read the reviews but figured that i could handle it as i would be out and about and just needed a place to rest my head. But dont do it!! Steps from the pool to the lift are wet and dangerous, as i found out. It was so seedy and you can rent rooms by the hour there which i didnt realise (which was the first thing we were confronted with when we arrived late at night). The place is unfriendly, unsafe and an utter shithole. DONT DO IT!

Negative:- Room way too small (Even smaller than a 2-star
budget hotel in Kota Kinabalu,Malaysia)

- Bathroom terrifically atrocious
a.) Liquid soap dispenser is useless
b.) No place to hang the clothes while having a bath.

-Bus stand right in front of hotel,no space for taxis
to pick up and drop passengers (comments by
