2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2014

The rooms whilst relatively spacious - are not maintained, therefore run-down & with mold all over the bathroom. They are not cleaned very well either, we had to joint two single beds together and when moved there was a lot of dust and rubbish underneath!

The spread for breakfast was acceptable, although the staff there are completely inept, arguing with each other over the top of guests!

Location is good - next to Funan (electronics) shopping centre and walking distance to Raffles City shopping centre and Clarke Quay.

Vincent from concierge was friendly, helpful, and had a great sense of humour.

We arrived late and checked into our room after 9pm after flying for 11 hours. We were given our key to our club room. we get to our room and open the door to discover we were allocated two single beds. When mentioned on checking out they just looked at us blankly. It was late so we just went to bed..th E hotel staff were polite and the club lounge food was nice. They offer a lovely cooked breakfast with lots to choose from. Apart from the single beds we had a good stay on our way home to perth.

A giant hotel with big lobby but tiny rooms with even tinier mouldy bathrooms.
Reception was efficient but not friendly and everything worked.
The TV only show local channels and WIFI is not too expensive - you get it for 3 machines.
The rea;l problem was the bathrooms that seriously need a facelift if not rebuilding.
You don't expect to see mould in a 4 star hotel - or in any hotel.

Room Tip: Maybe rooms in the other tower of the Peninsula (Excelsior is the name of the tower) are better

Good location, near City Hall MRT. However, hotel is old and dated - rooms are dated, but relatively clean. Except for the bathroom, which is small and dingy - bathroom had hair (assuming from the previous tenant) all over the place. Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and this was not addressed. Swimming pool is really really tiny and not worth taking a dip in.

I got it for a cheap price and did not spend much time in the hotel - even then, I would not recommend this hotel. Note, I stayed in Peninsula wing.

This review is quite late. I stayed at the Peninsula Excelsior Hotel for three nights with a friend. We got a room at the 18th Floor with a view of the outdoor pool below. The room was spacious and it has everything you can expect from a luxury hotel.

The location of the hotel in Coleman Street is excellent, the Hop On Hop Off Bus stops at this hotel and it is very easy to get a taxi anytime of the day. There are several tourist attractions nearby.

The beautiful lobby and all other facilities of this hotel exude elegance. Definitely proud to stay in this luxurious hotel.

Room Tip: Room 1810 has a good view of the outdoor pool.

If you don't mind that the carpets are bit old and shabby, that you hear your neighbours more than you would wish, it's your place. Consider it an emergency solution if really nothing is available. Breakfast overcrowded. Not recommended.

Convenient location, comfortable room, excellent concierge and bell boys and breakfast/dining staff, great food, only problem lobby/check in staff, unhelpful, at times rude, need people skills and better understanding of English language. Close to mrt and transport, walking distance to most places, would recommend as a place to stay.
