Stayed 1 night but I was pretty impressed since the hotel got a very good location in the center of singapore, located short walk from city hall mrt, green and red line interchange, so easy travel from to airport. To orchard just take the red line. To MBS only 2 stops to the last point then change to circle line for 1 stop. u can even have an easy walk to china town, or u can take a bus from bus stop next to the hotel. Esp. If u are a gadget freak, u will love it as it is just next to funan centre. Easy walk to clark Q. On top of it the hotel got a nice swimming pool, room was comfortablem will surely return and highly recommended

Stayed here for 2 day Singapore stopover en route to Cambodia. Booked via Trailfinders who were excellent. We were advised beforehand of construction work in and near the hotel but, with the exception of reduced breakfast facilities, this didn't bother us. Room was a good size, bathroom a bit cramped in comparison and we had a good 14th floor view towards the river. The staff were functional and the hotel has a huge turnover. Ideally located for City Hall transit and also easily walkable to Quays, riverside and malls.

Have just returned from a three day stay at Peninsula Excelsior hotel in Singapore. Hotel is very well situated and convenient to many places and the staff friendly and helpful. The rooms however leave a bit to be desired, the room we were in was very small and on entry smelt of stale tobacco. It could be safely said that it was in need of a good bit of maintenance particularly in the ( very tiny ) bathroom where the grouting was peeling off, and dirty. Areas in the bathroom also showed signs of mould which was not a pleasant. A look under the bed revealed an area long neglected by the cleaning staff. However the linen was very clean and the bed very comfortable, if you are unconcerned that it lacks a bit of cleanliness and want a hotel that is conveniently situated then the Peninsula Excelsior fits the bill.

Room Tip: make sure you get what you ask for

We have chosend this hotel due to its location to the Formula 1 race.... just a few steps from gate 3 & 4 couldn't be better specially as most roads were closed off.

Hotel room were good size, newly done and still fresh and clean... toiletries, bathrobes, tea/coffee making facility, hairdryer provided.

It was quiet enough but I was a tad worried as our room was next to the housekeeping utility room and boxes were piled next to our door and along the fire exit. This is a risk and fire hazzard as If anything happens, people will be trapped with these boxes. Not to mention an eye sore for paying guests as we were.... toilet very small, no bath, just shower but the hot water
pressure is good.

NO WIFI ANYWHERE ON THE BUILDING I was told although there was a wifi signal. guest have to contend with the internet cable connection provided in-room for USD30/24hours.... not good enough for our iphone and ipad :(

Staff were courteous and friendly, the filipino bellboy were very helpful giving us instructions to the best touristy must-do around the area.

Within walking distance to the Quay for good pubs and restaurant, a few steps on the underground train, a couple of stop to Orchard, Marina Bay etc..... cant fault the location.

If we go back again? Yes, although we wish the wifi will be sorted by then.

Room Tip: Higher floor facing the Padang area if going for the F1 race, you can get a glimpse of the track and...

probably the worst experience of an 'international hotel' i have ever had. Small airless rooms, bathroom so small you cant move in it, solid-block pillows, dirty windows, noisy corridor, crowded lobby..... I could go on, but generally the overall impression and stay was very poor. The location is nice & central with easy walk to everything, but surely there must be better than this? The final 'icing on the cake' to confirm my opinion was a dreadful breakfast with cold coffee, weak/diluted orange juice, cheap/tasteless 'no-brand' cereals. Maybe the asian breakfast choice would have been better (it would be difficult to be much worse!).

Stayed here 20/10/2012 for 1 night pre cruise and 26/10/2012 post cruise. The hotel is close to everything, Clarke Quay shops, food and transport. Funan Centre is right next to the hotel with Harvey Norman and floors of computer supplies as is Peninsula Plaza. Have stayed at this hotel a few times now and have no complaints at all. Wonderful rooms on the 21st and 22 floor with use of the sky lounge when booking an executive room. You get free food and drinks from 6pm at night with a selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, tea and coffee. You can use the lounge anytime of the day and the service is a 5 star service. Our room was huge, clean and well set out with views of the Marina. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

And to be very honest just very good and not average.
The hotel could do with some improvements and mainly in communication and cleanliness.

In general the building is nice and the hotel in essence is not that bad but our stay was just not as smooth as expected with minor obstacles along the way. The food could not get anywhere above average either during breakfast.

Room Tip: Smoking floors are really smoky...
