Owner description: Popular with nature lovers and runners, the Bukit Batok Nature Park offers meandering paths through the scenic forest. As you walk along the footpaths, you’ll reach look-out points – some reaching more than 10 storeys high – all of which provide breathtaking views of the surrounding areas.

“Great place for exercise or a leisurely stroll”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014 via mobile

If you avoid the "peak" hours ...6-8am ; 5-7pm and weekends ; you'll have the entire park to yourself . Most of the routes are sheltered by an incredible canopy of trees and there are many routes and paths to choose from. There's a beautiful old quarry there and it's absolutely peaceful if you go when the crowds have gone.

“Little Known Nature Park with WWII Memorial in the West of Singapore”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2013

A scenic quarry lake park that is popular with local residents, however might be a little out of the way for out of town visitors. Worth a visit though if you are in the west and visiting other off-the-beaten-track attractions there, and particularly if you are tracing the WWII history trail.

The park is 36 hectares large and features a 10 foot high cliff wall with rock that is 200 million years old. The spacious meadow around the lake is where many residents go to exercise in the morning. You can take the trails into the woods all the way up to the top of the cliff for a view of the lake from the top.

It is at the top where you will find the Bukit Batok Memorial, a plaque commemorating the site which was previously a WWII Shinto shrine and memorial for the Japanese war dead, as well as the Allied troop casualties. The old Ford Factory which was the site where the British surrendered Singapore to the Japanese in 1942 is nearby, and the area was of strategic significance in WWII.

You can check out my blog for pics and more information about the park:

“Beautiful Park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

This park is in my opinion a hidden gem as not many (apart the residents) take their time to see this place. The nature is great here and the walk ways are more varied compared to other parks or reserves in Singapore. It is a very pleasant place to take walks or work out. There WWII war memorial adds up to the heritage of this location and the scenic views are one of its kind in Singapore. As a resident here, this will certainly be a place that I will pay visit more than few times as it is one of my favourite spots.

“Nice walking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2012 via mobile

Nice place to walk around. Even if it rains there are places to take shelter. Worth going to if your children want to use the roller skates or kick scooter. There is a reasonable play park there but you will need a hat. There is also a water fountain with drinking water if you forget yours at home. Reasonable place. Worth the visit.

“Great Place To Exercise And Work Out”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

Bukit Batok Nature Park offers scenic views of an abandoned mining quarry, converted into a lake. A lot of Singaporeans like to exercise and work out here, due to its scenic view.

Bukit Batok Nature Park is also known for its small WWII memorial, located on a small hill. This portion of Bukit Batok Nature Park used to be a site of a battle, but has been converted into a centre with 2 Transmission Towers.

There are a few different kinds of local flora around Bukit Batok Nature Park, especially Fruit Trees and Curtain Fig Strangler Trees. Bukit Batok Nature Park is also great for bird watching.

If you're planning a visit, do note that admission is free, and allocate about 1 - 2 hours for viewing, although you might want to come during daylight hours. Wear a good pair of shoes and bring enough water!
