Booked one night in New Majestic after recommendation of the Monocle magazine. Hotel is definetly different experience from the mainstream Singapore hotels. The location in historic Chinatown is good and quiet enough (but good restaurants/bars in close-range). Old peranakan houses of this part of town are more authentic than usual highrises and malls. Rooms were small but cleverly designed and comfortable. Each room had different theme - mine had fantasy creatures hanging from the roof and walls. Pool area looked very trendy but didnt see much people hanging out there. All in all, different experience in Singapore, but rather expensive.
